Trust in God

Isaiah 26 4

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 26:4

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Building trust takes time.  The more you get to know God, the more your trust in him will grow.  Worrying doesn’t change a thing.  Instead, focus on getting to know God and let go of worry.

Pray for One Another

Matthew 18 20 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:   Matthew 18:20

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Blessed is a person who can pray for and with his brothers and sisters in Christ.  There is no greater act of friendship than to pray for one another. It is such a blessing to be able to call upon a friend and ask them to pray with you too.  Get a prayer group going among your friends and reap the benefits of praying together.

Be an Encourager

1 Thessalonians 5 11

Verse of the Day:  1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

We may not be able to solve everyone’s problems but we sure can be encouraging to everyone.  Share the love of God, pray with each other and for each other.  Be a friend and a blessing to those in need.

Knowing Christ

Philippians 3 10

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 3:10

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death

There is a difference in knowing about someone and knowing someone and there is a difference between knowing what someone does and knowing who someone is. You may have known about Jesus all your life but until you seek Him with all of your heart you won’t really know him as your personal Savior. You won’t have a personal relationship with Him until you start spending time with Him.  The more time you spend with Him the more you will become like Him.  You have a friend in Jesus, start getting to know Him.

Bad Influences

Proverbs 22 24-25

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 22:24-25

Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.

It’s clear that our friendships can have an influence on us, either for good or bad.  It’s important to choose the people who are close to us wisely.  Choose Godly friends that will be a positive influence in your life instead of people who can’t control their anger with whom you may eventually find yourself in a bad situation.  A bad temper is contagious.

Choosing Friends

Proverbs 12 26.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 12:26

The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Choosing the right kind of friends is actually a big deal because whether you realize it or not, you become like the people you spend the most time with.  Surround yourself with people who encourage you and make a positive impact in your life.  Your friends should inspire and motivate you to do good and be a better person.  Choose your friends wisely and strive to be a good friend too.

A Wise Woman

Proverbs 14 1

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 14:1

The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

A wise woman builds her house established on God’s Word and with God as the foundation.  She cares for her family, she encourages them and she leads by example by being an honorable woman of God.
