10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 8:  Thankful for Praise and Worship Music

Psalm 95 2.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 95:2

Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

Today I am incredibly thankful for worship music and songs. Being able to praise and worship God through song is so uplifting and inspiring. No matter what is going on in my life at that moment, good, bad, indifferent it all just seem to melt away instantly as I begin to focus on God. I feel connected to my Savior, so grateful for His love and mercy and thankful for His presence in my life.  Although I am not gifted with vocal talents, it doesn’t stop me from appreciating those who are and it doesn’t stop me from singing my heart out to the Lord.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 7:  Thankful for God’s Blessings

2 Corinthians 9 11 b.jpg

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 9:11

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

I am thankful for all of God’s blessings.  He always provides and makes a way for us to also be a blessing to others.  He wants us to be generous by sharing what we have with people less fortunate, not just at Thanksgiving but all year long.  He blesses us so we can generously pour out our blessings to others, which results in thanksgiving to God.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 6: Thankful for Spiritual Freedom

Psalm 100 4.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

I am thankful for the freedom to be able to enter into the house of the Lord to praise and worship my Lord and Savior.  Yes, we have a constitutionally protected right to religious freedom and that’s great, but I’m talking about the spiritual freedom we received when Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for our sins.  I’m talking about abiding in God’s truth which has set us free from a life of sin and death.  Because of God’s love and mercy, we can have a relationship with Him, we can come into his presence to praise and worship Him and for that I am thankful.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 5: Thankful for God’s Peace

Colossians 3 15

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 3:15

Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts and always be thankful.

Today I am thankful that I have God’s peace in my life.  Not long ago, I was talking to a friend who was telling me about all the stress and drama in their life and afterward all I could think was, “Thank God I have peace in my life!” It wasn’t always this way though, through the years I’ve learned to trust in the Lord with all my heart and I’ve learned to let go and let Him have His way.  I know that God is in control and the closer I draw to Him the more peace I have.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 4: Thankful for the Love of Family and Friends

2 Thessalonians 1 3.jpg

Verse of the Day: 2 Thessalonians 1:3

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.

I am thankful for the love of family and friends.  I’m grateful to have such wonderful people as part of my journey. Each person God has put in my life adds something unique and special to it and I love and appreciate them all.  I’m thankful for the love we share between us, for the experiences we go through together and for the memories that will be in my heart forever. As I thank God for you I pray that He would continue to bless and protect you always.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 3: I’m Thankful for Another Day of Life

Psalm 106 1.jpg

Verse of the Day: Psalm 106:1

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good.  I woke up this morning, but not everyone did, so I am grateful for another day of life.  No matter what is going on in my life there is always something to be thankful for.  I’m thankful for God’s love and mercy.  I’m thankful He never gave up on me even when I didn’t deserve another chance.  Life is a precious gift from God and I’m going to be the best me I can be and live my life for Jesus.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 2: Thankful for Wonderful Memories

Philippians 1 3

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 1:3

I thank my God every time I remember you.

Paul wrote this in a letter after he left Philippi where he had gone through some very difficult times, yet he chose not to focus on the things that had caused him pain. We ought to be like Paul and stay focused on the positive things in our lives and appreciate the great memories we have.  I thank God for giving me strength to get through difficult times and I am thankful for the great memories I have of the wonderful people God placed in my life.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 1: Thankful for All of God’s Wonderful Deeds

Psalm 9 1.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Thanksgiving Day is quickly approaching and I thought it would be nice to share some of the things I am thankful for.  I am thankful for my relationship with the Lord and for His amazing grace.  Because of His mercy and forgiveness, I am no longer the same. My heart is filled with gratitude and praise for all the things He has done and continues to do in my life.  He has renewed my spirit and because of this I want to share His wonderful deeds and goodness with the world.

Our Daily Bread

Matthew 4 4.jpg

Verse of the Day: Matthew 4:4

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Just like bread (food) supports life to your body, the Word of God supports life to your soul. Your body can’t go too long without nourishment and without food for prolonged periods your body becomes weak. It’s the same for your soul, without regular nourishment your soul too will become weak. You don’t just eat on Sunday, why would you only feed your soul one day out of the week? Nourish your soul by reading the Word of God daily

Happy Veterans Day!

Galatians 5 13.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 5:13

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

To all Veterans who have served our great nation in the United States Armed Forces:  We thank you for your service, honor you and respect you for all you have sacrificed for our freedom.  May God bless you always.

Jesus has set you free now the question is, what are you going to do with your freedom? The Bible says that instead of indulging in the flesh we should serve one another humbly in love.
