Rely on God’s Love

1 John 4 16.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 John 4:16

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.

If your first thought of the day is “God loves me” it will change the way you react to things that happen throughout your day.  No matter what happens tell yourself, “It’s going to be okay, God loves me”.  You can rely on God’s love for you and His strength will get you through the most difficult days if only you would trust in His love for you.

Generosity and Compassion

Proverbs 22 9.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 22:9

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

God is generous with us and He expects us to be generous with others. We serve a compassionate God and when we give ourselves to Him, He creates a compassionate heart in us. The awesome thing is that when we give to others from our heart God blesses us even more.  Be generous to those in need and do everything in love. Remember, we can never out give God.

With Love

1 Corinthians 16 14.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 16:14

Do everything in love.

Because of God’s love for you and your love for Him everything you do should be done with love.  From the simplest of things to the greatest, do it all with the love of God in your heart. Let God’s love shine through you so that others may see His love for all humanity.

Love the Unlovable

Luke 6 32.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Luke 6:32

If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

It’s easy to love someone who loves you and is good to you.  The challenge then is to love the unlovable and those who have been forgotten by society.  Start seeing them the way God sees them, love them, do good for them and pray for them.

Courage to Follow Jesus

Philippians 1 20

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 1:20

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

Because of God’s grace we do not have to be ashamed of any suffering we may encounter for Christ.  We must have the courage to follow Jesus and declare Him to be the Son of God, the Messiah and the Lord of our lives. (Romans 10:9) Having courage also means being obedient to His teachings. (John 8:31) Be courageous and determined to always do your very best to obey the call of God in all circumstances.

Obedience and Service

Isaiah 6 8

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 6:8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”  And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

If your desire is for God to use you, first you need to deal with sin in your life. Second, build a relationship with Him, get to know Him and recognize His voice.  Third, you need to offer yourself to Him through obedience and service.

Love One Another

John 13 35.jpg

Verse of the Day:  John 13:35

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

When you have the love of God in your heart it shows. Your love for God is not found in your outward appearance but in the way you treat others. If you truly have the love of God in your heart you will show it by being kind, generous and loving so all may see God’s love through you.

True Beauty

Proverbs 31 30.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Outer beauty is only skin deep and won’t last forever. The world wants you to think that our outer beauty is the most important thing and we must chase after it.  But a truly beautiful woman puts God first, she puts her relationship with God above all else. She knows that the way God sees her is more important than how the world sees her.

Life’s Instruction Manual

proverbs 3 1-2

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:1-2

Do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

People often joke about life not coming with a manual or instructions.  It actually does, it’s called The Holy Bible.  If we live our lives according to God’s commands, we can avoid many problems and live a long, peaceful and prosperous life.  Even better than that, we can live forever in heaven.

Praise the Lord

Psalm 119 164

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 119:164

Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.

There is no set number of times a day we must praise God. But wouldn’t it be wonderful if we just stopped what we were doing throughout the day to giving thanks and honor to one who is worthy of praise? We have so much to be thankful for and it doesn’t take but a few moments to say, “Thank you God!”. Lift up your hands, praise Him with your words, with your singing, with your dancing, just praise the Lord for He is good and worthy of all praise!
