Be the Best You

Romans 9 20.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Romans 9:20

But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”

We are all unique, one of a kind creations. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We each have been given different gifts so stop comparing yourself to other people and trust that God made you with a special purpose in mind. Love yourself the way God loves you and be the best you, you can be.  “A flower does not think of competing with the next flower, it just blooms.” – Unknown

Perseverance

Hebrews 10 36 2.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 10:36

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

When times are tough, when you are struggling or when things in your life seem stagnant, stay strong and don’t give up. Don’t lose your confidence in God and His promises. Wait without giving up, you only fail if you quit. God is in control so have faith in His timing. Do what God asks of you, finish your race strong and you will receive what He has promised.

Love and Good Deeds

Hebrews 10 24.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 10:24

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Let your love for God and your gratitude for His mercy and goodness inspire you to share His love with others.  Let’s motivate each other and encourage acts of love and service for those in need so that our heavenly Father may be glorified.  We need to do something, help somebody, invite someone because if we don’t then who will?

Keep Praying and Singing

Acts 16 25.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Paul and Silas were in a pretty bad situation but they kept praying and singing to God anyway because of their love for Him. Whatever difficult situation you may find yourself in keep praying and singing to God. Keep praising God no matter what the circumstances. Keep praising Him until He gives you the victory.

Kind Words

Proverbs 16 24.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 16:24

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Let’s make an effort to encourage the people around us, especially the people we love and care about most.  Kindness doesn’t cost a thing yet it’s so valuable.  We can build each other up with loving and kind words that promote hope and courage.  A kind word can change someone’s entire day. Encourage love and kindness for they are never wasted in God’s eyes.

Rich in Good Deeds

1 Timothy 6 18.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Timothy 6:18

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

In this world money comes and money goes. If you want to be truly rich in life you must do good deeds and cheerfully share what you have with those in need.  Build your treasure in heaven by doing the work of the Lord. Visit the sick, feed the hungry, help others to know God. These kinds of things make a real difference. Give, serve, love, these are the kinds of sacrifices that please God.

Straighten Your Crown

Hebrews 4 16

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

We all have days when we wake up feeling like we just can’t face the day.  Don’t let that overwhelming feeling discourage you.  Take a deep breath, remind yourself that you are a daughter of the King and straighten your crown.   Come boldly to the throne of God to lay your burdens at his feet and receive His mercy and grace for today.

Live Wisely

Ephesians 5 15-16

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 5:15-16

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

We are living in troubled times and it’s so easy to go astray from God’s ways. We need to live our lives conscientiously and with purpose. Jesus is your example of how to live a righteous and honorable life. Be diligent and wise in your decisions, making the most of every opportunity, always keeping your eyes focused on the Lord.  Ask God to give you the wisdom you need to make the right decisions in your daily life and He will gladly give it to you.

In the Potter’s Hands

Jeremiah 18 4.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 18:4

But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

We are the clay, marred by sin, often feeling unusable. But in the Potter’s hands we are transformed into a new creation. If we give ourselves to God, He will mold us into a new vessel fit for His purpose and every good work He has planned for us. We don’t have to be perfect to be used by God, just willing. We might start out broken but God can make us whole.

Give the Impossible to God

Psalm 84 12.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 84:12

Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.

As wives, mothers and grandmothers we do our best to take care of our families to the best of our abilities and we do as much as is humanly possible.  There are some things that are out of our control and for us, they are impossible. Those are the things we need to give to God.  Through prayer, supplication and faith put your trust in the Lord Almighty who deals in making the impossible, possible.  Do the possible and trust God for the impossible.
