Seek Peace

Psalm 34 14

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 34:14

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Evil is all around us all we have to do is turn on the evening news to see proof of the evil in this world.  To live a peaceful life, the Bible tells us to turn from evil.  This includes evil people, evil places and all things evil.  Instead, do good, according to God’s word.  Actively seek peace in every area of your life through your faith in God.

Everlasting Love

Jeremiah 31 3

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

God assures His people that His love was established since the beginning of time. It is not a temporary love but one that continues from generation to generation. It is confirmed daily as He forgives, protects, provides, heals and demonstrates His continued grace, mercy and power in your life.  God’s magnificent love is sovereign, unchangeable everlasting and nothing can separate us from His love for us.

Mercy

Titus 3 5 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:  Titus 3:5

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

The dictionary describes mercy as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. We are all born sinners with sinful, selfish natures because sin entered the world through Adam and Eve. We deserve the condemnation that came as a result of sin, which is death. But, because of God’s mercy, He sent His only Son to pay the price of sin so that we could be made right. His merciful gift of salvation brought forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Hope

Jeremiah 17 7.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Hope is confidence in God’s love. Hope is the expectation of a future with God.  Hope is the optimism you have in knowing that no matter what may come God will get you through it.  Hope is the anticipation of drawing closer to God. Hope is the assurance you have in knowing that with God all things are possible.  Hope is a blessing from God.

Faith

Hebrews 11 1

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Faith is believing in and completely trusting in the one true God, His Word and His promises.  It is the foundation and firm belief in the power, faithfulness and love of God.  Faith is what helps us get through life knowing that by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and by the power of the resurrection someday we will be in heaven with God for all eternity.

Grace

Ephesians 2 8

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Salvation is a gift graciously given from God because of His great love for us.  You cannot buy it, earn it, work for it or get it based on your own abilities. It is an undeserved gift you can only receive through faith. Through God’s plan to save us, Jesus paid for this gift when He died on the cross for our sins.  Everything you have, everything you are, and everything you do is all because of God’s saving grace.

My Helper

Psalm 54 4

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 54:4

Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Throughout the Bible there are stories of people who were in difficult situations but they made it through because they trusted in the Lord. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He helps those who put their faith, hope and trust in Him. Confidently look to God for help in all circumstances.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will give you the victory.

Restorer

Psalm 30 11

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 30:11

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

For whatever reason, be it sin, mourning, sickness or something else, if you are in a season of darkness return to God.  He is the restorer of light and goodness.  By his grace He will turn your sorrow into joy, your brokenness into beauty and your wailing into dancing.
