Love is the Greatest Virtue

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

The dictionary defines love as an intense feeling of deep affection. But the Bible tells us that love is much more than a feeling, it’s the most important and greatest virtue of all. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

God, You are love itself and everything You do is out of love. Thank You for loving me with an everlasting love that is so deep and wide that I cannot even begin to understand it. Thank you for keeping me under the umbrella of Your love. Help me to love like you do because Your love is patient and kind, forgiving and faithful. It is the greatest virtue of all. It does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Amen
