Give It to God

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 62:5

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

There may be times when all your efforts lead to disappointment, your plans don’t work out, temptation may seem too great or your current situation seems hopeless. Don’t lose hope, turn to God, leave it all in His sovereign hands. Wait patiently on the Lord and on His promises. Find rest in the Lord, for when you put your problems in God’s hands, He puts peace in your heart.

Lord, forgive me for the times I want something so bad I try to make it happen on my own and end up disappointed when it doesn’t work out the way I wanted. Thank you for the peace You give me when I leave it all in Your hands and wait patiently for Your will to be done, not mine. I trust in You, Lord, my hope is in You and in You my soul finds rest. Amen

More than Conquerors

Verse of the Day:  Romans 8:37

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8:35 poses the question: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? The answer is found in Romans 8:37-39. We are to have confidence in knowing that no tribulation, suffering, persecution, absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.  His love is not earned so it cannot be lost, it is undeserved and limitless. We are not just conquerors over sin and despair, we are more than conquerors in all things through Jesus Christ. Even when we go through these things our faith is made stronger. We have the victory through the blood of the Lamb.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your good and perfect love, even though I don’t deserve it, I know You love me and You always will. Thank You for the confidence I have in knowing that no matter what I face today I have the victory through the precious blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Amen

Bearing Fruit

Verse of the Day:  John 15:8

This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Bearing much fruit comes with spiritual maturity and is a result of being obedient to the Word of God. When you devote yourself to God and His will the fruit of the Spirit is evident in your life and God is glorified. You are a righteous tree planted to bear the fruit of righteousness by which all men will know you are disciples of Christ. But, when you aren’t connected to the life giving vine, you stop bearing fruit. Stay connected to God through prayer, His Word and by serving Him with a surrendered heart.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit that changes me and keeps me connected to You. Lord, I pray that as I devote and surrender myself to You, the fruits of the Spirit will become more evident in my life so that You may be glorified. Amen

Faith Inspires Action

Verse of the Day:  James 2:14

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?

Faith is a verb; it requires action on our part. Faith in God prompts us to do something, it moves us to share the love of God not only by word but also by deed with those in need. As our faith grows it is revealed in the presence of the fruit of the Spirit. Anyone can profess that they have faith but true faith is demonstrated by acts of love and kindness which demonstrate its genuineness. For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose. (Philippians 2:13)

Lord, thank You for the love and kindness You show me every day. Likewise, let my faith in You be demonstrated not just by word but by showing love and kindness to others. Let my faith and good deeds go hand in hand as a testament of my love for You. Amen

Same Goal

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:24

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

God has given each of us different gifts to be used for His purpose. We should be pleased with what we’ve been given and use these gifts to the best of our ability. No matter what happens in the world around us we cannot let it shake our faith, become fearful or allow it to change our purpose. We are to remain faithful to the very end in testifying to the grace, love, and mercy of God and the salvation He offers to all people. We each may have a different gift and a different task but the goal is the same for all of us, to use our gifts, to finish the race and to complete the task we’ve been assigned by God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the spiritual gifts and talents You’ve given me for Your purpose. Help me to use them to the best of my ability for Your honor and glory so that when my race is over I may hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Amen

Let God Work Through You

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 8:5

And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.

Give yourself fully to God, devote yourself to the Lord and allow Him to use you to help others. Be so full of God’s love and joy that it spills over into the lives of those who also need Him. Be there for one another, especially in these difficult times. If you see that someone is struggling, by faith, be a blessing to them. Remember, when you help others God will bless you and provide for your needs too.

Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing me beyond measure. You have been so, so good to me. I give myself to You so You can use me. Let Your love flow through me so that I may be a blessing to others for Your honor and glory. Amen

Saved from Yourself

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 118:14

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

Even if you are going down the wrong path the Lord will never forget you, He will never leave you.  Surrender to His calling. It’s not too late to turn around and it’s not too late to start over. The Lord will save you from yourself and from your own bad decisions. When you accept Jesus as your Savior you can leave the guilt and shame of your past behind, you are a new creation. Let Him be your strength, your song and your Savior.

Lord, I’m not perfect and I need You in every moment of every day. I was going in the wrong direction but You gave me another chance. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins and for the gift of salvation. I am no longer the same, I am a new creation in Jesus and You, Lord are my strength, my song and my salvation. Amen

Praise His Name

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 99:3

Let them praise your great and awesome name – he is holy.

The Lord is so worthy of our praise. We serve a mighty God who is wonderful, merciful and faithful. Praise Him for who He is, for His goodness and holiness. Praising His holy name invites His presence and opens a path to a deeper connection and relationship with our Creator and the King of the world. Focus on the Lord and give Him all your attention and praise Him with all your heart and soul. Just come before the Lord to give Him praise, honor and glory. Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Lord, I humbly come before You to praise Your great and awesome name! You are so worthy of all praise and the honor and glory belong to You alone. God, You are holy, wonderful, powerful, merciful, faithful and so much more. You are the Alpha and the Omega the one who was, who is and is to come. You are my creator, my provider, my healer, my comforter, my savior and my everything. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Amen

Happy Earth Day

Verse of the Day:  Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

God created the earth and everything on earth was created by Him. He created light for the earth, He separated the sky from the water and let the dry ground appear. He created seed-bearing plants and fruit bearing trees. Then God created the sea creatures, birds for the sky and land creatures. Finally, God created mankind in His own image to rule over the earth and everything in it. God created the earth and it’s up to us to take care of every part of it for today and for the future. Heavenly Father, thank You for creating such a beautiful place for us to live until we are home with You. Thank You for the sky, the land, the water and the air we breathe. Grant us the wisdom to rule over and care for it and all its creatures for today and for the future. Amen

Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

There are going to be times when you say, “God, I don’t understand why this is happening.”  That’s when you must learn to accept that you will not always understand everything God is doing. That’s when you just have to trust that God has a plan and that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Life is not always going to be easy but if you learn to trust God with all your heart you will have peace, joy and happiness in this life no matter what is happening around you.

Thank You, Lord, for the peace, joy and happiness that come from trusting in You with all of my heart. It may not always be easy and even when I don’t understand I know that You are good, that I am loved and that You are always with me. Amen
