Joyful – Patient – Faithful

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

The Christian life is not always easy. Jesus said we will have troubles but we can have peace because He overcame the world (John 16:33). We can be joyful in the hope we have in Jesus Christ because we have received the gift of salvation and the hope of being with the Lord forever in heaven. We can be patient during troubled times because we know our faith is being made stronger while we rely fully on God for healing, comfort, provisions and peace. Be faithful in your prayer life regardless of what is happening in the world and especially in times of tribulation. Don’t be discouraged by what is happening around you instead take every concern, every fear and every doubt straight to the throne of God.

Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Your only Son to overcome the world and sin. Thank You for the joy and the hope that comes from knowing You. Help me to be patient in troubling times as I put my trust in You because I know You are working everything out for my good. Lord, I bring every concern, every fear and every doubt and lay them at Your feet. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Perfect Peace

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

No matter what you go through, if you stay focused on the Lord and trust in Him, He will give you peace to get through anything. God’s peace is real and true, it’s an inner peace that only He can give. It’s peace for this world and it’s a perfect peace that will continue even when we get to heaven. Keep your mind fixed on the love God has for you. Stay rooted and grounded in God’s promises and in His power. Give up your need to control every situation and just let God have His way. Let Him give you the peace your heart longs for.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise to fill my heart with peace when I put my trust in You. Forgive me for the times I try to take control of situations. Help me to just let go and let You have Your way. Lord, help me to stay rooted in Your promises, in Your love and in Your perfect peace. Amen

Pour Out Your Heart

Verse of the Day:  Lamentations 2:19

Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord.

God wants you to come to Him with the good and the bad. It’s good to come to the Lord with praise and thankfulness but we also need to bring our problems and our troubles to Him. It doesn’t matter if it’s anger, frustration, confusion, pain, suffering, lay it all at His feet. Come to Him with a sincere heart, don’t hold back. Pour your heart out to God and tell Him exactly how you feel and what you need. He already knows what you’re going through but He wants you to bring it all to Him. God loves you and He hears every prayer. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:8)

Heavenly Father, You are my God and I praise Your wonderful name! I give thanks to You Lord for all Your wonderful deeds. You know everything I’m going though and I trust in You alone. Sometimes life seems so hard, but I know that You are with me. I pour out my heart to You, God, because I need You and I can’t make it without You. Amen

Grow

Verse of the Day:  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Christianity is long-term, it’s for all eternity and like every living thing it’s a growing process. We start off as babes and grow to full maturity, we develop as we grow. Growing doesn’t mean we never fail because we will never be perfect in this world. But, we do start to see our sin and the Holy Spirit’s convictions help us to repent. God will continue to work on you until the day Jesus comes for His church. We must do our part too, we can’t just stay where we are today, we must continue working at it so that we may grow our knowledge of God, our relationship with God and our faith in God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that saved me and helps me to grow closer to You each day. Lord, I pray that You would help me to grow in knowledge, in spirit, in faith and in obedience so that I may walk more closely with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Depend on God

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Today’s society teaches that independence is the goal but what we need most is to be dependent on God almighty. If we learn to trust and hope in the Lord, He will give us physical strength when we’re weary and power when we’re weak. More importantly, He will strengthen our faith. Even if we have faith the size of a mustard seed that’s enough to get us through because the power does not come from our faith, it comes from our God. Yet, the more we depend on God and have faith in His power, the more our faith will grow. Depend on God, have faith in His power, promises and provisions.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promises, thank You for always being there for me and for making a way even when I can’t see one. The more I depend on You the more I see how awesome You are. I know that You are in control and into Your hands I place my life. Amen

Change Begins Within Ourselves

Verse of the Day:  2 Chronicles 7:14

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sins and restore their land.

Many have turned their backs on the Lord and not having a relationship with God is what’s wrong with our society today. They no longer fear the Lord and therefore lack wisdom. How do we fix it? We humble ourselves, pray, seek God, turn from our selfish and wicked ways and walk in His commandments. If we do these things God will hear us and have mercy on us. He will forgive us and restore us. But to change the world, each one of us must first change ourselves.

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before You to repent from my sins and my selfish ways. Lord, I ask that you would have mercy on me and forgive me. Help me to change my ways Lord, please hear my prayer and bring restoration to my life. Amen

Ordinary + Courage = Extraordinary

Verse of the Day:  Acts 4:13

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

You don’t have to be an eloquent speaker to tell people about Jesus. All you need is the willingness to share your own story. Just tell others what God’s love, goodness, grace and mercy has done in your life. You don’t have to be educated or skilled in a specific vocation to volunteer to help the poor, you just need to show up. You don’t have to be rich or powerful to make a difference. Ordinary people like you and me with some God given courage and a love for Jesus can make an extraordinary difference to somebody.

Lord, thank You for the love, goodness, grace and mercy You have poured over my life. I am just an ordinary person but You are an extraordinary God! Lord, I ask for courage to share my testimony and Your love with those in need. Amen

Don’t Lose Heart

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 12:3

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Jesus is the Son of God, pure and holy, yet He suffered and died for us. Everything He went through was an example for us so that we too can continue what we have been called to do. What we go through now is nothing compared to the glory God will reveal to us later. (Romans 8:18) Your hardest times will often lead to the greatest moments in your life. Keep fighting the good fight, be strong in your faith and don’t lose heart. It will all be worth it in the end.

Dear Jesus, thank You for the gift of salvation and the hope of eternity with You. Help me to remember everything You went through to save a wretch like me. When I am discouraged and weary give me strength so that I can keep fighting the good fight. I know that no matter what I face here on earth it will all be worth it when I get to heaven. Amen

Turn to God for Salvation

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 45:22

Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

Turn to God and be saved.  You won’t find salvation in idols, in man, not even in yourself.  Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19) God loves you so much He made a way for you to be reconciled with Him when He sent His only Son, to die on the cross for your sins. Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Him. (John 14:6) Jesus is the Savior for the lost, the light for those in the dark, the strength for the weak, the comforter for the discouraged and the healer for the sick. God is offering you salvation while there is still time.

Thank You God for the gift of salvation. Thank You for sending Your only Son to die on the cross for me. Lord, I repent from my sins and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Amen

Your Moment to Shine

Verse of the Day:  Esther 4:14

Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.

God has a purpose and a plan for your life. The question is, will you submit to God’s will? You can go your entire life not knowing your purpose but when you humble yourself and submit to God’s will things start to fall into place. Seek God above all else with a sincere heart. Ask Him reveal your purpose and start following your God given dreams.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the purpose You have planned for my life. Let it be revealed as I walk in faith. I give myself to You so can use me for Your purpose and for Your honor and glory. Amen
