Live at Peace

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:18

If possible, to the best of your ability, live at peace with all people.

The Bible tells us that we should try our best to live at peace with all people. This includes our family, friends, our brothers and sisters in Christ, the people we work with and as much as possible we should try to make peace with our enemies. We should stand up for what is right, pray for peace and do whatever we can to promote it by living godly lives that honor the Lord. We cannot control what other people do, but we certainly can seek to control our own actions and responses. It may not always be easy, but it will be worth it to try to live peacefully with others, especially those who are difficult to deal with. Do not be vengeful, overcome evil and do your part to live at peace.

Heavenly Father, help me to remain at peace even when dealing with difficult people. I pray that they too would know You and the peace that comes from loving and being loved by You. Amen

Seek Peace

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 34:14

Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Evil is all around us, all we have to do is turn on the evening news to see proof of the evil in this world. To live a peaceful life, the Bible tells us to turn from evil. This includes evil people, evil places and all things evil. Instead, do good according to God’s Word through faith and with love for the honor and glory to God. Ask the Lord to give you the strength and grace to actively seek peace if at all possible in every area of your life and with all people. Peace is its own reward.

Heavenly Father, protect us from all the evil in this world. Help us to depart from evil and do good for Your honor and glory. Grant us strength and the grace we need to seek peace with all people. Amen

Everlasting Love

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

God assures His people that His love was established since the beginning of time and it will continue forever and ever. It’s not a temporary love, but one that continues from generation to generation. God confirms His love for us daily as He forgives, protects, provides, heals and demonstrates His continued grace, mercy and power in our lives. God’s magnificent love is sovereign, unchangeable, everlasting and nothing can ever separate us from His great love for us. God’s love is life changing when you begin to believe that He loves you, He always has and He always will.

Heavenly Father, thank You for your everlasting love and unfailing kindness. Thank You for the assurance I have in knowing that nothing can ever separate me from Your great love. Amen

Mercy

Verse of the Day: Titus 3:5

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

The dictionary describes mercy as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone to whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. We are all born sinners with sinful, selfish natures because of the sin that entered the world through Adam and Eve. We deserve the condemnation that came as a result of sin, which is death. But, because of God’s tender mercy, He sent His only Son to pay the price of sin so that we could be saved and made righteous. Instead of punishment, His merciful, free gift of salvation brings forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We don’t deserve it and we can’t earn it but You made a way for us to be saved. Thank You for the forgiveness of our sins and the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen

Hope

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Hope is confidence in God’s love, His promises and in His Word. Hope is the anticipation of drawing closer to God. Hope is the optimism you have in knowing that no matter what may come God will get you through it. Hope is the assurance you have in knowing that with God all things are possible. Hope is the confidence you have in the Savior and the expectation of spending eternity with our heavenly Father. Hope is a blessing from God and when you put your hope in Him you won’t be disappointed.

Lord, my hope is in You, in Your promises and in Your Word. I know that no matter what happens, You will see me through it. I am blessed because I trust in You with all my heart and come what may my hope will remain in You and in Your unfailing love. Amen

Faith

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Faith is believing in and completely trusting in the one true God, His Word and His promises. It is the foundation and firm belief in the power, faithfulness and love of God. It is the core belief of what we hope for even though we cannot see it now we know it is to come. Faith lives in the heart and mind of every believer and even though they cannot see God with their physical eyes they still believe and see Him with their spiritual eyes. Faith is what helps us get through life knowing that by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and that by the power of the resurrection, someday we are assured and expect to be in heaven with God for all eternity.

Heavenly Father, we cry out to You because we believe and have faith in You and in Your promises. Lord, help us when our faith is weak and when our fears try to get the best of us. Strengthen us against all temptation and watch over us as now and forever. Amen

Grace

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Salvation is a gift graciously given from God because of His great and eternal love for us. You cannot buy it, earn it, work for it or get it based on your own abilities. It is the free, undeserved goodness and favor of God and it is a gift you can only receive by faith. Through God’s plan and His covenant of grace, Jesus paid for this gift when He died on the cross for our sins. As believers, everything we have, everything we are and everything we do is all because of God’s saving, forgiving and redeeming grace that blesses us all.

Lord, thank You for the precious gift of salvation. Thank You for giving Your life so that we may be saved. Thank You for the forgiveness of our sins, for Your redeeming grace and for blessing us more than we could ever deserve. Amen

God is My Helper

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 54:4

Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Throughout the Bible there are stories of people who were in difficult situations but they made it through because they trusted in the Lord. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He helps those who put their faith, hope and trust in Him. If we are for Him, He is for us and if He is for us, we have nothing to fear. Confidently and expectantly look to God for help in all circumstances. His help is always on time and it’s always what we need.

Lord, You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You have helped me before and I know You will help me again. I put all my faith, hope and trust in You because I know you are for me and with You by my side, I have nothing to fear. Confidently and expectantly I turn to You for help. Amen

God is My Defender

Verse of the Day:  Deuteronomy 20:4

For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.

Those that love and trust in the Lord may call upon Him in their time of need. Whatever battle you are facing be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual God is with you and He will fight for you. From the smallest battle to the biggest, God will defend you and protect you. This is Christian warfare and the key to victory is to stay in God’s will and to fight on your knees in prayer. You have no reason to fear, trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will give you the victory.

Oh Lord, my God, You are my defender. You go with me to fight for me against my enemies to give me the victory. Every battle I face belongs to You, Lord, and in You alone I trust to see me through. Amen

God is My Restorer

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 30:11

You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.

For whatever reason, be it sin, mourning, sickness or some other kind trouble, if you are in a season of darkness you need to turn to God. He is the restorer of light and goodness. He will restore you and turn your sorrow into joy, your brokenness into beauty, your wailing into dancing. Seek the Lord by prayer and supplication having faith that God is able to change your circumstances and in His time, He will deliver you from your troubles. Until He does, keep praising Him because when the time does come, He can change things in the blink of an eye restoring your spirit, your mind and your heart.

Heavenly Father, You take what was meant for evil and You turn it around and use it for good. You are able to restore what the enemy has stolen in the blink of an eye. Lord, we trust in You to turn our wailing into dancing and we’re going to keep on praising You and worshiping through it all. Lord, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. Amen
