My Deliverer

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 34:19

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.

Life can be hard and at times may even seem unfair. You will go through difficult times but don’t give up hope. Remember, the Lord has gotten you through tough times before and He will get you through them again. Keep your mind on the things above. Keep praying, cry out to God and be comforted in knowing that He hears you. Keep your focus on Him and He will get you through the troubles that come your way and in due time you will be delivered from them all. If not in this present life than surely in the hereafter where there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain but only eternal happiness.Lord, You know everything I am going through and I trust in You to deliver me from my troubles. You have delivered me before and I have faith that You will deliver me again. I know You hear my prayers and are working everything out for my good. Help me to stay focused on You as You see me through this. Amen

A Cheerful Heart

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

You can choose to be worried and miserable or you can choose to trust God and be happy. The way to a cheerful heart begins with giving thanks to God in every situation. When God dwells in your heart there is peace and joy and when you live by faith God provides. You can always find something to be thankful for even if you have to look a little harder.

Heavenly Father, I just want to say thank You for everything You do for me both seen and unseen. Thank You for providing for all my needs. Thank You for the peace and joy You bring to my life. Thank You for the hope You I find in You. I can never thank You enough for everything You do. Amen

Anchored in Jesus

Verse of the Day: Hebrews 6:19

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

This world is as a sea; the church in it, and so every believer, is as a ship; the port that is bound unto is heaven; Christ is the pilot, and hope is the anchor. (John Gill’s Exposition) If our hope is anchored in Jesus, when we go through storms, by faith we can be confident that we will remain connected, safe and secure. Whatever storm we face we can trust that Jesus will never leave us and our hope is never misplaced in Christ our Lord.

Lord, You are the anchor for my soul, all my hope is in You. I trust in You alone to get me through whatever storms I may face because I know that You are in control. Thank You for being the anchor that keeps me firm and secure. Amen

Take Care of Your Soul

Verse of the Day:  3 John 1:2

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.

We all have been very focused on our physical heath. It’s important to make sure you take care of your body and enjoy life, but don’t forget to also take care of your soul because good health starts from the inside. Do things that make you smile and bring you joy. Do volunteer work, it not only helps others, it also brings you joy. Forgive others, let go of anger and hurt so you can move forward leaving the past behind. Exercise daily faith, hope and love in your Christian walk. Above all, fill your heart with the Word of God and let your soul be renewed by spending time alone with God who daily refreshes your spirit.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the peace my soul finds when I spend time studying Your Word. Help me to forgive and let go of the past so that You can heal my soul. Thank you for refreshing my spirit as I draw closer to You. Amen

Be Strong & Don’t Give Up

Verse of the Day:  2 Chronicles 15:7

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

We all have times when we feel discouraged and we feel like giving up and quitting. Even the strongest warriors have moments of weakness. If the Lord has put a good work in your heart and has given you a dream, He will make a way for you to do it. That doesn’t mean it won’t be hard, because it might be, but that’s okay because God is on your side. What you do for the honor and glory of God will not be overlooked, on the contrary, it will be rewarded. Be strong and don’t give up, keep working for the Lord.

Lord, thank You for always being on my side. Even when I feel discouraged or feel like giving up, I know You are with me. Help me to stay strong and to keep working for Your honor and glory. Amen

Stop Worrying, Start Worshipping

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:27

Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

Worrying doesn’t change a thing and it sure doesn’t add any benefit to your life. I know that we are living in trying times but that doesn’t mean we have to worry about every little thing. That also doesn’t mean we should live recklessly. We need to take precautions, be safe and do what we feel is right for ourselves and our unique circumstances. The Bible says fear, anxiety and worry are not from God. Instead, we must we must have faith in God’s promises and He will give us peace and strength to get through anything. Turn your worrying into worshipping and let God turn your battles into blessings.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the peace and strength we find in You to get through difficult times. Lord, I trust in You, in Your Word and in Your promises. Instead of worrying I’m going to worship my way through this battle because I know Your blessings are ahead. Amen

Why We Should Serve

Verse of the Day:  Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

As believers in Jesus Christ we should follow the example He set for us. He is the beloved Son of God, the Prince of Peace, the King of Kings, the Messiah yet He came to serve. How then can any of us ever think too highly of ourselves that we cannot serve others. Jesus showed us how to help the sick, the poor and those in need and we must, with humility and love, also do the same. He is calling us to serve others with a heart of compassion. He is giving us the opportunity to serve God by serving others and making the world a better place.

Lord, thank You for the beautiful example You set for us to serve. You showed us how to help the sick, the poor and those in need. Help me to serve with humility and love and to have a heart of compassion to serve others and make this world a better place. Amen

Christlike Compassion

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 72:13

He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.

The Lord is merciful and has compassion on the poor and the needy. Not only does He offer salvation for their souls but He also takes care of their physical needs. Jesus made time to heal the sick, feed the hungry and He cared for the weakest among them. We must also have a heart of compassion for those in need. If there’s a specific charity or need that touches your heart, take the next step and make a donation or volunteer your time and service to an organization that addresses those needs. Let Jesus guide you in how you can help the less fortunate.

Lord, thank You for always taking care of my needs, both spiritually and physically. Help me to also have a heart of compassion for those in need. Guide me and show me ways to help the less fortunate and share Your love with them. Amen

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 5:10

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

At the beginning of 2020 many of us were in a good place and we were looking forward to seeing what the new year had in store for us. Little did we know that this would be some of the hardest times since the Great Depression. Many have lost their jobs, their homes and people they love. Some are struggling emotionally, physically and financially just to make it to tomorrow. We have had to trust in the Lord like never before. But praise God, we serve the God of restoration! By His grace, we have been called to be His children and we have hope for a future because our heavenly Father always has a plan to heal and restore His people.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for bringing us through the storm. Thank You for the hope we have in You. Heal us and bring restoration to Your people. Lord, we love You and trust in You alone. Amen

Hold On to Hope

Verse of the Day: Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

It’s easy to have faith in God when everything is going our way and when things are good. But when difficult times come and our faith is being stretched we can’t give up hope. As God’s children we need to hold on to the hope of His promises knowing that He is always faithful. The promises of God are exceedingly great and He fulfills each one in His own timing. God never changes His mind, He never forgets and His Word is true for all eternity. God will never lie, deceive or mislead you. Even if it feels like He has overlooked you or He feels far away, have faith and remember He is always with you and He has never ever failed in any of His promises. Keep hoping, keep believing and keep trusting God.

Lord, help me to keep hoping, keep believing and keep trusting in You and Your promises even when I don’t see a way. You know everything from the beginning to the end and I know that You will work everything out for my good. Thank You for always being there for me. Amen
