Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Reading the Bible as part of your prayer can lead to enlightenment. The Book of Psalms is a great place to start reading scriptures that turn into prayers. They’re full of wonderful praise and thanksgiving to God. Before you begin to read the Bible ask God to open your eyes and make clear what He is trying to show you. If you’re looking for a specific topic you want to address in prayer you can use a Bible concordance or look up verses on the internet. Once you find the Bible verse you want to focus on, read it, meditate on it, think about what it really means to you, then pray about it. God speaks to you in many ways including His written Word. He may open your eyes to something new when a passage you’ve read before suddenly becomes clear and impacts you like never before. Remember, when we pray, we talk to God; when we read the Bible, God speaks to us.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Scripture that is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. Open my eyes, mind, and heart to what You have for me. Enlighten me so that I may be encouraged in the hope of Your Word. Amen
