Standing in the Gap

Verse of the Day:  Luke 5:20

And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man your sins are forgiven you.”

In Luke chapter 5 some men carried their paralyzed friend to see Jesus for healing. When they couldn’t reach Him, because of the crowds, they didn’t give up and they went through the roof. When Jesus saw their faith He forgave the man’s sins and his body was healed. Had it not been for the faith of the friends the man may never have been healed. You may know someone who is going through something so difficult it’s beginning to weaken their faith. That’s where your own faith comes in to play. You can be the bridge to God by praying and interceding for your friends and family. You can stand in the gap by letting your faith carry them when they are weak.

Heavenly Father, please watch over my family and friends and protect them from all harm. Lord, You know their every need, may Your blessings and healing be upon them. Merciful God, please forgive their sins and lead them to salvation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Rejoice, Pray, Give Thanks!

Verse of the Day:  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.

We don’t always need to change our circumstances sometimes we just need to change the way we see them. No matter what you are going through keep rejoicing in the Lord, keep praying and keep giving thanks to God. Don’t give up on God because He’ll never give up on you.

Lord, I will continue to rejoice in every circumstance because I know You have been faithful to see me through again and again. Thank You for never giving up on me, for loving me and for always working things out for my good. Amen

Wait, Hope, Believe

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

We’re not always good at waiting, it’s just our nature. We get impatient, frustrated and start to doubt God’s will in our lives. Instead we need to be confident in God’s love for us. We need to wait on the Lord’s timing, hope in His mercy and believe in His promises!

Heavenly Father, thank You for the love and mercy You have shown me. I trust and believe in every promises You make. I know that You are never early, never late but always on time. Grant me strength and courage as I wait for Your promises to be fulfilled. Amen

Your Thoughts Matter

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 4:23

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. (GNT)

If you think your thoughts don’t matter you are very wrong.  When you think about things or believe something, whether it’s good or bad, it turns into the things you do. If you do these things enough times they turn into a habit. Your habits determine your character and your character determines your spiritual life. Ultimately, your spiritual life determines where you will spend eternity. So, you see, your thoughts really do matter.

Lord, help me to take control over negative thoughts. Help me to focus on what is good and pure so that my thoughts and actions may be pleasing to You, Lord. Amen

Be an Overcomer

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:21

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

It’s easy to see that the devil is busy stirring up evil all over the world. As a Christian, you need to resist him and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) Keep vigilant and put on the whole armor of God. Don’t repay evil for evil, instead love your enemies and pray for them. Keep doing good deeds and don’t let evil weaken you. Be strong and courageous in your faith, be an overcomer.

Lord, thank you for the spiritual armor you have equipped me with. Help me to be strong and courageous as I strive to overcome evil with good. I know I have the victory in Jesus Name! Amen

Christ Completes You

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 3:19

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.  Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

We were created with a longing in our heart for Christ. We unsuccessfully try to fill this emptiness with people, wealth, success and material things. The truth is, only Jesus can make you whole and complete you. Only Jesus can satisfy your soul. It’s not enough to know who He is. You need to personally experience the love of Christ for yourself to enjoy a life of peace and contentment. Let Christ live in your heart and invite Him into every part of your life.

Lord, I invite you into my heart and into every part of my life. Only You can satisfy this longing in my soul. Only You can fix what is broken and make me whole. I need more of You, Lord. Amen

You Are Royalty

Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

You have been chosen by God to be royalty. You may not have been born on this earth as royalty but because you were chosen and belong to our heavenly Father, you are the daughter of the King and not just any king, the King of all the heavens and earth! You are God’s special possession and of great worth. Praise God for His love, for choosing to have a special relationship with you and for calling you out of the darkness and into His wonderful light.

Father, Thank You for calling me out of the darkness and into Your wonderful light. Because of Your great love, You have chosen me to be called a child of God, a daughter of the King. Lord, I praise Your great and wonderful name! Amen

You Are a Shining Star

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 2:15

Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.

This world has been darkened by sin but as a followers of Christ you are meant to shine like stars in the night sky for the whole world to see. As a faithful ambassador of Christ it’s your calling to shine like the Son. Be who God created you to be, a bright and shining light in a dark world leading others to Christ.

Lord, You have created me to be a bright and shining light in a dark world. Help me to live a life of integrity and goodness so when people look at me, they see Your love shining through me. Amen.

You Are the Light of the World

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 5:14

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Jesus is the light of the world and you should strive to be Christlike. Your relationship with the Lord is personal but He wants you to shine as a light for the world to see. Your light shines by the way you live your life for Jesus by doing good and being an example of God’s love and mercy to the world.

Lord, let those who see Your light shining brightly through me come to know Your love and mercy for themselves. Use me, Lord, for Your honor and glory. Amen

God’s Love is Limitless

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 36:5

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

God’s love is so high, deep and wide that we cannot even begin to comprehend it. You see, no matter what you do or don’t do, God will never love you any less and He cannot love you any more than He already does. His love for you is not based on who you are or what you do, it’s based on who He is and God IS love and His love is infinite. My prayer for you is that you may know, love and serve the Lord with all your heart. May your knowledge of God’s love for you bring you joy and peace all the days of your life. Amen.

God, There is nothing that compares to Your great love for us and I pray that people everywhere would come to know how much You really love them. Amen
