Harsh Words Stir Anger

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Do your words build people up or tear them down? More importantly, do they reflect the love of God? Sometimes in the heat of the moment we may say unkind, cruel things that we really don’t mean, but once said they cannot be unheard. Reckless words cut deep and leave emotional scars and uncontrolled anger is hurtful to both the person who harbors it and to those around them. Learn to control your anger and choose your words wisely especially in difficult situations. Your message is better received when given with kindness, gentleness and humility. Let your words be an encouragement and an inspiration to those who hear them. Let your words direct others to God’s love instead of stirring up anger.

Lord, forgive me for the times when I am reckless with my words. Help me to control my anger and choose my words wisely. Soften my heart so that I may act and speak with kindness, gentleness and humility. In Jesus Name, Amen

Walk in the Light

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 18:28

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

It’s not easy living in a world full of hate, violence and darkness. But when you trust in the Lord with all your heart His light shines down on you because He is the light of the world. Out of His love, grace and mercy He alone will give you the strength and faith you need to keep walking in the light and you will not be overcome. Be faithful to God and you will see that He is everything He promises to be.

Lord, You are the light of the world and we thank You for Your promises. By faith we follow You, let Your light shine down on us. Grant us strength to keep going strong and not be overcome by the darkness in this world. Amen

Rise and Shine

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 60:1

Arise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.

Rise and let God’s grace lift you up from whatever darkness is holding you down. Jesus is the light of the world and He came to save the lost and offer you hope and a future. Surrender your heart to God so He may pour His favor out on you. Shine so others may see God through you by honoring Him not only with your words but by the way you live your life. Give God the glory and He will give you the victory.

Lord, You are the light of the world. You came to save the lost and give us hope and a future. I believe every Word is true and I believe in You. Let Your light shine through me for all the world to see. All honor and glory belong to You, Lord. Amen

The Truth Will Set You Free

Verse of the Day:  John 8:32

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

The Bible teaches us that we are all born sinners with sinful, selfish natures. “Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people” (Romans 5:12) Jesus Christ came to set you free and offers freedom by being born again. He has the power to free your mind, body and soul from the bondage of sin and those that are set free by the Son are truly free. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. You will know the truth when your mind and your heart are opened to a greater understanding and clearer knowledge by studying and knowing the Word of God. If you accept and obey His teachings as truth you are true disciples.

Thank You Jesus, I’ve been set free. Free from a life of sin and the hold it had on me. Jesus, You are the way, the truth and the life. By Your grace and mercy I have been set free, saved and redeemed! Amen

Be There for Each Other

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

In life there will be times when you need encouragement and there will be times when you need to encourage others. There will be times when you go through hardships and need someone to lean on and there will be times when someone will need to lean on you. We all face temptation, trials and we most definitely all have shortcomings. As brothers and sisters in Christ we need to be there for one another sympathizing, showing compassion and praying for each another. It’s also our duty to love one another and to share the love of Christ by more than just caring about each other but by action. When God gives us the opportunity to help someone it’s our responsibility to step up and take action in whatever way we are able.

Lord, help me to be there for my family and friends in the way You have always been there for me. Help me to encourage and care for them with compassion and kindness, with prayer, and actions. Help me to be a blessing so they may see You through me. Amen

Helping God’s People

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

The Lord blesses those who are a blessing to others. The love you show to God’s people as He puts it in your heart to help and encourage them is evidence of your faith and your love for Him. God is not unjust that He would ever forget the work you do or the love you show by helping and ministering to His people. Let God work through you to show love to His people as you grow spiritually and walk in His wisdom and truth. Any good deed you do with a right heart for His glory will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all the blessings in my life. I pray that you would work through me so I can be a blessing to others for Your honor and glory. Amen

Thankful

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 30:12

To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Although your life may not be perfect and you may have troubles, there is so much to be thankful for. Even with everything going on in the world today, you still have a great deal to be thankful for. No matter what is currently going on in your life, there is always something to be thankful for so count your blessings and not your troubles. Thank God for waking you up this morning. Thank Him for all that you do have. Thank Him for your salvation. Thank Him for His love and mercy and for who He is. Never stop giving thanks to God, even with your last breath give thanks to the Lord for He truly is worthy of praise and thanksgiving.

Heavenly Father, thank You, Lord, for all the blessing in my life both big and small. I am truly grateful for them all. Thank You for loving me and always being there for me. Most of all, thank You for the precious gift of salvation. Amen

God Is My Salvation

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 12:2

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

With all the uncertainty in the world around us we can remain unafraid because our trust is in God our Savior. We can face anything because God is our strength and our salvation. I don’t know who needs to hear this today but I’m here to remind you that God loves you and it doesn’t matter who or what is against you because God is for you. No matter what you’re facing God can turn it around. He has been there for you in the past, He is there for you now and He will always be there for you. Trust in the Lord Jehovah not only to give you strength but to be your strength, your song, and your salvation.

God, You are my strength when I am weak. You are with me when I feel alone. No matter what I am facing, You can turn it around. I will trust in You and not be afraid for You are my salvation. Amen

The Path of Life

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Until we find the path of life that leads us back to God we will have a longing to be complete. The only thing that can fill the emptiness is the love of God. This world is not our home. Heaven is our final destination. We are merely on the road that leads us to our Father’s house. How wonderful to be on the path that was laid out for us by our creator for one day we will be seated at His right hand in the joyful presence of our Savior.

Lord, help me to stay on the path that leads to You. Let Your Word and the Holy Spirit continue to guide and direct my steps until I am finally home in the presence of my Savior. Amen

Compassion for the Impoverished

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus was not only concerned for the souls of the multitudes who followed Him, but also for their physical needs. We are called to be Christlike – gentle, caring and compassionate. There is a homeless epidemic in this country, many people are living in poverty and people are going hungry every day. The Coronavirus pandemic is making a complex problem even worse with many people losing their jobs, their homes and ultimately their lives. Everywhere you look there are people who desperately need help and they need Jesus. People are hurting and it’s up to us as Christians to find a way to do what we can to help them with their physical needs and by sharing the love and compassion of God to bring souls to the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. If not us, then who?

Lord, thank You for caring for me and taking care of my every need. Help me to share Your love and compassion with those that are hurting by helping with their physical needs and, Lord, help me lead them to You. Amen
