Use Your Gifts

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:6-8

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

Faith in Action: It is your responsibility to identify the gifts God has given you. You can find spiritual gift surveys online to point you in the right direction. Then, figure out a way to use them for God’s purpose.

Give Yourselves Fully

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Faith in Action: Devote yourself to the work of the Lord knowing that nothing you do for God is a waste of time or effort.

Let God Lead You

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 20:24

A person’s steps are directed by the Lord.  How then can anyone understand their own way?

Faith in Action: Life is a journey and only God knows what lies ahead. Let go of your need to follow your own path and let God lead you in the direction you should go.

For God’s Purpose

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:13

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

Faith in Action: Count yourself dead to sin but alive to God as an instrument of faith, joy, hope, peace, and love to be used for His purpose.

Pray for God’s Will to be Done

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:10

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Faith in Action: Praying for God’s will to be done is an act of faith because we know and believe that God’s will is good and perfect and therefore, we trust in His plans and His will for us.

Personal Requests

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:8

For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

Faith in Action: God already knows your needs before you ask but He still wants to hear your request and see you exercise your faith.

Pray for Others

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 6:18 CEV

Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.

Faith in Action: We can pray for overall healing, protection, salvation, and for God’s will to be done in the lives of our friends and family. If God puts someone in your thoughts make sure you pray for them, you never know what they may be going through.

Intercession

Verse of the Day:  1 Timothy 2:1

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.

Faith in Action: The greatest gift you can give someone is to pray for them. Nothing proves you love someone more than mentioning them in your prayers.

Sing During Prayer

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 100:2

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Faith in Action: Praying doesn’t just have to be speaking, it can also include singing. What matters is your intent. Sing to the Lord from your heart.

Read During Prayer

Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

Faith in Action: Allow God’s Word to lead your prayers. The Book of Psalms is a great place to start reading scriptures that turn into prayers. They’re full of wonderful praise and thanksgiving to God.
