Refrain from Anger

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 37:8

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil.

During an argument while in the heat of the moment, sometimes we say things we don’t mean and may later regret. We let our anger get the best of us and we lose control of our emotions. Anger in itself is not necessarily a sin but how we handle that anger and letting it control us is where we cross the line. In order to control our anger, we should first acknowledge it, pray about it, confess our weaknesses to God, and ask Him to help us deal with any underlying issues that may be causing our anger to surface in such a way. There are many techniques and resources that can help with anger management and one might also seek help from a pastor and/or a professional. There is no shame in seeking help.

Fruit of the Spirit: The Bible says that one of the Fruits of the Spirit is Self-Control and with the help of the Lord we must learn to control our emotions. When we do, we will have Peace in our lives.
