Hearing from God

Verse of the Day:  Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Fruit of the Spirit: When we put our Faith in God and are Faithful to Him and His Word, we can hear from Him through the Bible, prayer, a sermon, other believers, music, nature, even social media, and more. God can speak to you but you need to put yourself in a position to be receptive.

God Hears You

Verse of the Day: 1 John 5:14

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Fruit of the Spirit: Pray with confidence and by Faith, in the name of Jesus, with humility and reverence because no matter what the answer is, you can be sure He has heard your prayer. When you know in your heart God hears your prayers you can have Peace as you wait Patiently for His answer.

Knowing Christ

Verse of the Day: Philippians 3:10

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death

Fruit of the Spirit: You may have known about Jesus all your life but until you seek Him with all of your heart you won’t really have a personal relationship with Him. The more time you spend with Him, the more you will become like Him. The more you become like Him, the more the Fruit of the Spirit will be evident in your life.

Seek the Lord

Verse of the Day:  Deuteronomy 4:29

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Fruit of the Spirit: The most important thing you can ever do isn’t found in the busyness of your life, it is found in the quiet times seeking God. If you truly want to see the Fruit of the Spirit grow in your life, seek him with a sincere heart, pray, read the Bible, and turn from sin.

Love is the Greatest Virtue

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 13:13

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

Fruit of the Spirit: Love is Patient and Kind; Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love is much more than a feeling; it is a choice.

Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 13:5

(Love) it keeps no record of wrongs.

Fruit of the Spirit: We’re not perfect and there are going to be times when we disagree or have conflict but Love fights fair and it doesn’t keep score. Love doesn’t bring up the past. Keeping a record of wrongs creates a bitter heart and a bitter heart can find no Peace. God can fill your heart with Peace so when disagreements arise you can act with Gentleness, Patience, Self-Control, and fairness, harboring no resentment.

Love Requires Action

Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Fruit of the Spirit: Love is more than words, it is action. It is Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Let’s not love with just words but with action.

Love Is Not Selfish

Verse of the Day: Philippians 2:3

Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.

Fruit of the Spirit: True Love is not selfish or self-centered. Agape Love is a sacrificial Love, it is the highest form of Love and charity. It puts the needs of others before oneself. It is the Fruit of the Spirit in action.

Love Forgives

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 3:13

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Fruit of the Spirit: Love forgives and forgiveness brings Peace. Forgiving may not be easy, but God has forgiven us of all our sins both big and small and He expects us to forgive others as well. “If we really want to love we must learn how to forgive.” – Mother Teresa

Love is Kind

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:3

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. (NASB)

Fruit of the Spirit: God’s Love changes us, it makes us Kinder, compassionate, caring and forgiving. Because God has been so Kind to us we need to choose to intentionally go out of our way to show Kindness to the people we Love.
