A Cheerful Heart

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

Fruit of the Spirit: A person whose heart is genuinely cheerful is Joyful even in challenging circumstances because their Joy comes from the Lord and their relationship with Him and not from the things that are happening around them and they know that there is always something to be thankful for.

Rejoice, Pray, Give Thanks!

Verse of the Day:  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.

Fruit of the Spirit: You can still be Joyful in the middle of your trials because God Loves you and He is with you always. Instead of focusing on your problems, rejoice, pray and give thanks for your blessings!

Wait, Hope, Believe

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Fruit of the Spirit: Waiting requires Patience and Self-control. Trust the Lord’s plan for you and let His Peace surround you as you Patiently, hope and believe in His promises until God’s plan comes to fruition.

Standing in the Gap

Verse of the Day:  Luke 5:20

And when he saw their faith, he said, “Man your sins are forgiven you.”

Fruit of the Spirit: In Luke chapter 5 some men carried their paralyzed friend to see Jesus for healing. When they couldn’t reach Him, because of the crowds, they didn’t give up and they went through the roof. When Jesus saw their faith He forgave the man’s sins and his body was healed. Had it not been for the faith of the friends, the man may never have been healed. Standing in the gap out of genuine Love and concern for others, interceding with compassion and care creates a bridge between the needs of others and God. Who do you need to pray for today?

Morning Prayer

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 5:3

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.

Fruit of the Spirit: The best way to start the day is with prayer, God’s Word, and by seeking His will. Make time to pray every morning and invite the Lord into every part of your day. Ask Him to give you the Peace and Self-control you need to go through your day.

Action Speak Louder than Words

Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Fruit of the Spirit: “May your life preach more loudly than your lips.” – William Ellery Channing Love others by showing them Patience, Kindness, Goodness and Gentleness. Actions speak louder than words.

The Words of Your Mouth

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 19:14

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Fruit of the Spirit: Fill your mind and heart with positive thinking so that there will be no room for negative speaking. Let your words be pleasing and acceptable to the Lord in your everyday conversations. Empower your life by speaking words of Love, Joy, Peace, and Kindness.

Your Thoughts Matter

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 4:23

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. (GNT)

Fruit of the Spirit: Self-control begins in our thoughts. If you cannot control your thoughts, you will be able to control behavior. Philippians 4:8 tells us we should think about what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, and anything that is excellent or praiseworthy. Take control over negative thinking by focusing on what is good and pleasing to the Lord.

Live for Jesus

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Fruit of the Spirit: Jesus loves us so much, He willingly gave His life to pay for our sins so that we may be forgiven and offered the gift of salvation and eternal life. Because He died for us we should do our best to live a Fruitful life for Him.

Let Your Light Shine

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Fruit of the Spirit: Letting your light shine includes displaying the Fruit of the Spirit as part of your character. In this way, you’ll be able to impact others through your Goodness because of your great Love for the Lord who will be glorified.
