Refrain from Anger

Verse of the Day: Psalm 37:8

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret–it leads only to evil.

In the middle of heated arguments, we often speak impulsively, driven by anger and emotions, and may later regret our words. It’s important to recognize that anger itself isn’t inherently sinful; even God has experienced anger. What matters is how we manage and respond to our anger. The Bible teaches that self-control is one of the Fruits of the Spirit, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can learn to control our emotions rather than be controlled by them. To address anger, begin by acknowledging it, confessing it to God, and seeking His help in addressing both the anger itself and any underlying issues contributing to it. Various techniques and resources, including support from pastors and professionals, are readily available for anger management, and seeking help is nothing to be ashamed of.
