This is a quick and easy, basic salsa recipe you can modify to your taste. You can use as much or as little of each ingredient as you like so there are no precise measurements. If you like more cilantro, add more, if you like less add less, you get the idea! This salsa goes quick in our house and we put it on everything.
- 1 large can of Whole Tomatoes
- 1/2 an Onion
- 3 Jalapeno Peppers
- 2 Serrano Peppers
- 1 bunch Cilantro
- Garlic (optional)
Boil whole Jalapeno and Serrano Peppers in a sauce pan for about 10-15 minutes.
While the peppers are boiling, add the can of tomatoes, roughly chopped onion, garlic (optional ), and cilantro leaves to a blender. Once the peppers have boiled remove them from the sauce pan, cut off the stems, and add to the blender. Reserve the water.
Pulse until you get the consistency you like. If it’s too thick you can add some of the reserved water. Add salt to taste and enjoy with tortilla chips!
