I love bread and found that giving up eating it was one of the hardest things for me to do when I began eating a low carb diet. With these low carb rolls you don’t have to stop eating bread! They’re delicious and perfect in place of traditional bread. You can also slice the rolls and use them for sandwiches or you can shape them into hamburger buns or hot dog buns. For a variety of flavors, you can top them with your favorite herbs and seasonings. Best of all they are only 2g net carbs each when you make 6 servings per batch. - 1 1/4 cups Almond Flour
- 5 tablespoons Psyllium Husks Powder
- 2 teaspoons Double Acting Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Sea Salt (ground)
- 1 1/4 cups Water (boiling)
- 2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3 Egg whites
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (fahrenheit).
Spray bottom of baking sheet with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl mix the Almond Flour, Psyllium Husk Powder, Double Acting Baking Powder, and Sea Salt together.
Bring Water to a boil and add to the dry ingredients, then add the Apple Cider Vinegar and mix lightly. Add the Egg whites to the bowl and beat with a hand mixer 20-30 seconds.
Divide bread into 6 equal parts, shape into balls, and place on baking sheet. (Optional: You can add sesame seeds, herbs or any spices you would like before baking.)
To make hamburger buns, shape into balls and flatten to the size of a patty. To make hot dog buns, roll dough between palms into the shape and length you need.
Bake for 50-60 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes on a baking rack.
