Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Verse of the Day: 1 Corinthians 13:5

(Love) it keeps no record of wrongs.

While we’re far from perfect, there will inevitably be moments when disagreements or conflicts surface. Yet, genuine love fights fair and doesn’t keep score or keep a tally of grievances. It doesn’t bring up the past and it doesn’t use the past to purposefully hurt each other. True love patiently listens before speaking, is gentle and fair. Love tries to understand and moves forward in forgiveness. It encourages forgiveness all while retaining valuable lessons for personal growth. Keeping a record of wrongs creates a bitter heart and a bitter heart can find no peace.

Lord, thank You for Your mercy and forgiveness, without it where would I be? Lord, help me to forgive the way you do, without keeping a record of wrongs. Holding on to the hurt and pain only creates bitterness in my heart. Help me to let go of the past so that I can move forward with love and compassion. Fill my heart with Your peace, Lord, so that when disagreements arise I can act with gentleness and fairness, harboring no resentment. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
