Avoid Negativity

1 peter 3 10

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 3:10

Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.

Embrace life, be kind, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. Keep your tongue from speaking foul, obscene or unwholesome words. Don’t lie or say hurtful things to anyone. Instead, speak blessings, be a blessing and you will receive a blessing. A forgiven heart is a changed heart, filled with gratitude and love. Avoid negativity by speaking positivity into your life.

God Will Fight for You

1 peter 2 23

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 2:23

When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

It’s in our nature to protect ourselves when we are being attacked whether it’s insults, criticism, or lies. We want to fight back and retaliate with more of the same, we want to defend ourselves with our own arguments.  But when Jesus was being insulted and suffering He did not retaliate.  He put his trust in His Heavenly Father and let God’s will be done.  Put your trust in God and let Him be your defender, He will fight for you and He will judge your enemies accordingly.

Spiritual Gifts

1 Peter 4 10.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 4:10

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

God gives each of us talents, abilities and gifts that He expects us to use to serve others.  Gifts of wisdom, faith, discernment, teaching, administration, service, mercy, hospitality and encouragement have been given to us for His purpose, not ours. If we want to please God we must faithfully use our gifts to bless others and to build His kingdom.

Share Your Testimony

1 Peter 3 15

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 3:15

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Knowing scriptures will come in time, but you don’t have to have every scripture in the Bible memorized before you can tell someone about Jesus.  Your personal testimony is one of the most compelling things you can share with someone.  If someone asks you why you believe in Jesus, tell them your story, tell them what He has done for you and how your life has changed.

You Are Royalty

1 Peter 2 9.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

You have been chosen by God to be royalty.  You may not have been born on this earth as royalty but because you belong to our heavenly Father, you are the daughter of the King!  You are God’s special possession and of great worth. Praise God for choosing to have a special relationship with you.

God is Holy

1 Peter 1 15-16.jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 1:15-16

But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

God is holy and He is calling you to be holy.  Before you knew God you didn’t know any better, but now that you know God, He expects more from you. God wants you to be obedient and live according to His will in every aspect of your life.  He expects you to be holy, but don’t worry if you fall, He is also forgiving.
