A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Faith in Action: It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy. Happiness is not dependent on the things of this world but in God’s goodness and mercy. Give thanks to the Lord for in His presence is fullness of joy.
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Feeling joy and being cheerful in ordinary things isn’t as hard as it seems. Granted, we are currently going through some of the most difficult times, but when we trust in God with all our heart we are able to keep our spirit from being crushed by the things going on in the world. To be cheerful, focus on the good things in your life and be grateful for what you have. God’s love and mercy give our hearts reason enough to be happy and knowing that our faith is built on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ allows us to be secure no matter what is happening around us. Remember, it’s not happy people who are thankful, it’s thankful people who are happy so let us give thanks to the Lord for in His presence is fullness of joy.
Lord, thank You for the peace I have in You. My happiness is not dependent on the things of this world but in Your goodness and mercy. No matter what is happening around me, there is always something to be thankful for. Amen
All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.
You can choose to be worried and miserable or you can choose to trust God and be happy. The way to a cheerful heart begins with giving thanks to God in every situation. When God dwells in your heart there is peace and joy and when you live by faith God provides. You can always find something to be thankful for even if you have to look a little harder.
Heavenly Father, I just want to say thank You for everything You do for me both seen and unseen. Thank You for providing for all my needs. Thank You for the peace and joy You bring to my life. Thank You for the hope You I find in You. I can never thank You enough for everything You do. Amen

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.
Even though there may be things going on in our lives that make us feel sad, we cannot let them bring us down. There is still good in the world, there are still good people and there is still a reason to smile. If you’re having a bad day, feeling stressed out or feeling blue think about all the good things in your life and all that God has done for you. Think about your salvation and God’s love and forgiveness. Count your blessings and not your troubles and remember, Jesus loves you and will never leave you and that’s more than enough reason to smile.
