Peace

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Verse of the Day:  2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

As we get closer to Christmas and the end of a very difficult year, let’s pray for peace in our hearts and in the hearts of others. True peace is a gift from God to those who keep Him in their hearts. Let’s not forget that we are all God’s children so we ought to pray for one another with love and unity. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the reason for the season. Christmas is not about the presents, it’s about His presence. May you and your loved ones find the true peace, love and joy!

Keep On Keeping On

James 1 12 2

Verse of the Day:  James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

There will be trials, there will be tough times, but God is with you and if you don’t give up you will be blessed. Be patient in afflictions, keep believing and keep praying. It’s no surprise that we will face adversity Jesus said we will have troubles but to take heart because He has overcome the world. So when these troubles come stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. Stay strong, you are not alone, and it will all be worth it in the end for when that day comes you will receive the crown of life, which is a gift from God.

Name Above All Names

Isaiah 9 6

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Messiah, a gift from God, His only Son was born to save mankind. He is described as Wonderful because of His glorious nature, Counselor because He knew God’s plan and revealed it to us. He is called Mighty God because He is God as well as man, Everlasting Father of all believers.  He is the Prince of Peace who purchased peace between God and men when He died on the cross for our sins. God gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

Gifts from Above

James 1 17

Verse of the Day: James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Every good thing we have in our lives and every blessing is a gift from God. The devil tries to remind us of the hard times we’ve gone through, the illnesses, the losses and every trial we’ve ever faced just so we’ll forget all the good things God has done for us. But do not be deceived for God is good all the time and He is the source of every good thing! Instead of counting your troubles, make a list of all the good things in your life and thank your heavenly Father for them.

O Holy Night

1 12-24 1 John 3 17

Verse of the Day:  John 3:17

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The star was shining brightly in the city of David on the night the Savior was born. God sent His only Son to offer the grace of the gospel, eternal life and salvation, that the world through him might be saved.  The birth of Christ, the Messiah, was proclaimed by angels to the shepherds who went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus lying in the manger. On Christmas Eve let’s stop for a moment and reflect on the greatest gift ever given, Jesus Christ our Savior.
