Different Task, Same Goal

Acts 20 24

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:24

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

God has given each of us different gifts to be used for His purpose.  We should be content with what we’ve been given and use these gifts to the best of our ability. We each may have a different task but the goal is the same for all of us, to finish the race and to complete the task we’ve been assigned.

Courage to Share Your Story

Acts 4 13.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Acts 4:13

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

You don’t have to be an eloquent speaker to have the courage to tell people about Jesus.  All you need is the willingness to share your own story. Just tell others what God’s love, goodness, grace and mercy has done in your life.

Keep on Speaking

acts 18 9

Verse of the Day:  Acts 18:9

One night the Lord spoke to Paul, “Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.”

We live in a society where everyone wants to give their opinion on anything and everything. As believers in Christ we must be courageous and willing to stand up for what we believe in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with the world, just tell them what God has done for you.

More Blessed to Give than to Receive

Acts 20 35.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

God has given us more than we could ever deserve and we should follow His example of giving. When we give to the weak we are spreading God’s love and hope into the hearts of those who receive the gift. When you give in a right spirit it truly is an act of worship and pleases the Lord. Let’s not forget that God gives to us so that we may be generous to others. This Christmas let’s focus on giving rather than receiving.

Helping Others

Acts 20 35 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

I recently read an article about random acts of kindness raising dopamine levels and boosting your mood.  Shortly afterwards I happened to read Acts 20:35 and it all made sense.  We feel good when we do good deeds for others because we are blessed when we give unselfishly.  Give what you can whether it’s your time, money or encouragement.

I Am a Witness

Acts 1 8.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

I am a witness to the changes God has made in my life. I am no longer the same and now through the power of the Holy Spirit I am a witness to God’s message of love and forgiveness. You too are a witness and can share what the Lord has done for you.

Different Task, Same Goal

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:24

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Keep Praying and Singing

Acts 16 25

Verse of the Day:  Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Paul and Silas were in a pretty bad situation but they kept praying and singing to God anyway.  Whatever difficult situation you may find yourself in keep praying and singing to God.  Keep praising God until he gives you the victory.
