Start Your Day with Prayer

1 Corinthians 16 13 (2)

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 16:13

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Whether you realize it or not, you are constantly fighting spiritual battles against the rulers of darkness and evil and you never know what the new day may bring. Be vigilant, on guard, standing firm in your beliefs. Be brave and courageous knowing that through Christ the victory is yours. Start each day with prayer asking God to give you courage and strength to face whatever comes your way.

Personal Requests

James 4 2

Verse of the Day:  James 4:2

You do not have because you do not ask God.

God already knows your needs before you ask (Matthew 6:8) but He still wants to hear your request and see you exercise your faith.  If God did everything for you automatically you would soon take it for granted. Coming to God in prayer for your needs show your dependence on Him. If there is something you need, go directly to the source.  Take it to God in prayer, be bold and confident with your personal requests and always pray with the right motives.

Worry or Worship

philippians 4 6

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Whatever it is that worries you whether it’s spiritual, physical, for yourself or for someone else bring it to God in prayer.  Humbly come before your heavenly Father with a sincere heart and lay your burdens, your worries and your cares at His feet. Thank Him for what He’s done for you in the past, thank Him for hearing your prayer in the present and thank Him in advance for answering your prayer in the future. Come to Him with an honest heart, tell Him how you feel and what you need.  He already knows, but He wants to hear it from you.

Good Gifts from Your Heavenly Father

Matthew 7 11

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 7:11

So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. (NLT)

Doesn’t it make you feel wonderful to know you have given your children what they’ve asked for on their Christmas list? Now, think about how much more your heavenly Father also wants to give you good gifts. God loves you and it makes Him happy to bless you with the desires of your heart. God already knows what you need before you ask, if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer according to His will.

Make Wise Decisions

James 1 5

Verse of the Day:  James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

When you have a decision to make that you are uncertain about, take it to the Lord in prayer.  God is wise and all knowing, the giver of all good things.  Bring your concerns to Him with sincerity and ask for guidance and wisdom to make the right decision.

Personal Petition

James 4 2 (2)

Verse of the Day:  James 4:2

You do not have because you do not ask God.

God already knows your needs before you ask but He still wants to hear your request and see you exercise your faith.  If you need something you should go directly to the source.  Take it to God in prayer, be bold and confident with your personal petitions.  Pray with the right motives and be persistent.  If your prayers are not answered immediately keep praying, keep asking and keep believing.

He Hears You

1 John 5 14

Verse of the Day:  1 John 5:14

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

Pray with the full confidence that God hears you, He is faithful and He is a loving God.  God hears all your prayers and He answers all your prayers.  When you ask God for something, the answer will be yes, no or wait. The key words here are “according to His will”.  Just because you pray and ask God for something does not mean that it is His will for you.  You must always pray “according to his will” and ask that His will be done, not yours, for He alone knows His plans for you. No matter what the answer is, know that He has heard your prayer.
