Verse of the Day: Psalm 72:13
He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.
The Lord has compassion on the weak and needy. We must also have a heart of compassion for those in need. If there’s a specific issue that touches your heart, take the next step and make a donation or volunteer your time to an organization that addresses those needs. Let God guide you in how you can be of service.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 22:9
The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.
God is generous with us and He expects us to be generous with others. We serve a compassionate God and when we give ourselves to Him, He creates a compassionate heart in us. The awesome thing is that when we give to others from our heart God blesses us even more. Be generous to those in need and do everything in love. Remember, we can never out give God.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
We are called to be Christlike – gentle, caring and compassionate. There is a homeless epidemic in this country, many people are living in poverty and people are going hungry. Everywhere you look there are people who need help. People are hurting and it’s up to us as Christians to find a way to do what we can to help them and to share the love and compassion of God. If not us, then who?
Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 3:10
Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
Embrace life, be kind, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. Keep your tongue from speaking foul, obscene, or unwholesome words. Don’t lie or say hurtful things to anyone. Instead, speak blessings, be a blessing and you will receive a blessing. A forgiven heart is a changed heart, filled with gratitude and love. Avoid negativity by speaking positivity into your life.
