Keep on Speaking

Verse of the Day:  Acts 18:9

One night the Lord spoke to Paul, “Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.

The Apostle Paul was in Corinth where his safety may have been at risk for sharing the Good News. It would have been so much easier to just stay quiet but the Lord directed him to not be afraid, to keep speaking and to not be silent and because Paul obeyed the Lord, the church in Corinth flourished. We’re living in a society where everyone wants to give their opinion on anything and everything. As believers in Christ we must be courageous and willing to stand up for what we believe in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with the world. The world needs to know that Jesus came to save them. Don’t worry if you don’t know the right words to say, just tell them what God has done for you.

Heavenly Father, I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for me. You gave me hope when I had none and you saved me when I was lost. Thank you for never giving up on me and for always loving me. Help me to speak about your saving grace and the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Amen

Go and Bear Fruit

John 15 16 (2)

Verse of the Day:  John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Just like the Disciples, you have been chosen to be part of the body of Christ. God chose you to be part of His family even before the foundation of the world. You are a part of His plan and you have a purpose. You have been appointed to go out and bear fruit, to share the Gospel of Christ and bring souls to Jesus. We, as believers in Christ, are all ministers in that we are working for God’s kingdom. You are encouraged continue the work God has called you to do and if you ask the Father in Jesus’ name, He will give you whatever you need to be successful and fruitful.

You Are a Shining Star

Philippians 2 15

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 2:15

Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.

This world has been darkened by sin but as a followers of Christ you are meant to shine like stars in the night sky for the whole world to see. As a faithful ambassador of Christ it’s your calling to shine like the Son. Be who God created you to be, a bright and shining light in a dark world leading others to Christ.

Kindness and Charity

Matthew 25 40

Verse of the Day: Matthew 25:40

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

As believers in Christ we should be known for our good deeds. We don’t do them because we are trying to get into heaven. Jesus already made the way for us. We do good deeds because of the grace that has been shown to us. We do good deeds because we have the love of God inside of us and we do good deeds because we want to be more like Christ. Love is kind and God commands us to love one another. Be kind, practice random acts of kindness and charity not because of who they are but because of who you are, a child of God.  Share God’s goodness with those in need. Do what you can as often as you can for as many as you can.

Spiritual Wisdom

James 3 17.jpg

Verse of the Day:  James 3:17

Wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

Spiritual wisdom comes from God and it gives you the desire to live a life that is obedient and respectful to God and His holiness no matter what trials you face. It helps us to see the best in people, to be patient and to forgive others and it also help us to step back in the interest of peace when appropriate. It allows us to be open to receiving good advice and godly counsel. It compels us to be merciful and compassionate toward all people leading us to do the good works God has already planned for us with a sincere and impartial heart. How do we get this spiritual wisdom? God reveals it through the Holy Spirit and through His Word to every believer in Christ who asks in faith.

Strengthened in the Faith

Colossians 2 6-7

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 2:6-7

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

As believers in Christ we must strive for spiritual maturity. We cannot grow without first being tested. If we are rooted in Christ, when trials come our faith will be made stronger when we trust in the Lord and continue to be thankful for His goodness and mercy in all situations.
