Serve One Another

Verse of the Day:   Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Jesus was born a King, yet by His example, He teaches us to be humble. The Bible says that Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. As ambassadors of Christ our lives should exemplify His characteristics and should reflect Christ in us. Let’s follow His example of humility by serving the less fortunate. You can touch lives with your kindness and service to others by sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ. Although Covid 19 has changed the way we may be used to volunteering there are still ways you can safely be of service in your community and remotely. Do good, be rich in good works, ready to give and willing to share. (1 Timothy 6:18)

Lord, thank You for all the blessings in my life. Help me to help others through acts of service. Help me to share the hope we have in You by using my gifts to serve others. In Jesus Name, Amen

When You Give, You Get Even More

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 11:24

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

When it comes to our finances God’s way differs from man’s way. The worldly way of thinking when it comes to money is to make it, spend it on yourself or to hold on to it. God’s way is to tithe, to be generous to God’s work and to give liberally to the poor. Everything we have comes from God and we are merely managers of it. How we spend God’s money makes a difference. You can save all your money here on earth but we all know you can’t take it with you. The more you give for God’s purposes, the more God gives to you and the more God blesses you. True wealth is measured by what’s in your heart not by what’s in your wallet and by the treasures you have stored up in heaven.

Heavenly Father, thank You for all the blessing You pour down on me. Help me to be more like You by being generous to those in need. Lord, I know that no matter how much I give, You will always supply my needs, so help me to be a cheerful giver. Amen

A Cheerful Giver

2 Corinthians 9:7

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 9:7

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Spread the love of Christ with the less fortunate this Christmas. God loves a cheerful giver and when He puts in your heart to give, do so cheerfully. There are a couple of weeks left until Christmas so you still have time to make a donation to a worthy cause that helps people in need. Unless you’ve been there yourself, you don’t realize what a difference a little help does make. The simple things we take for granted someone else is praying for. Follow your heart and let God work through you, for the Lord has blessed you so you may bless others. Whether it’s big or small make a donation to your favorite charity and make a difference in the lives of others.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 7: Thankful for God’s Blessings

2 Corinthians 9:11

Verse of the Day:   2 Corinthians 9:11

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

This year has been a difficult year for many people. So much has happened including the Covid-19 pandemic, mandatory lock-downs, loss of life, loss of jobs, schools and churches closed, fires across the west coast, hurricanes on the east coast and civil unrest across the county just to name a few. But, through it all God is still with us and I am thankful for all of His blessings. I am thankful we have a roof over our heads, food on our table, clothes on our back and the love of God in our hearts. I am grateful because we have been blessed and we have also been able to be a blessing to others, which has resulted in thanksgiving to God. Everyone needs a blessing, especially in these turbulent times, and I believe God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others. I encourage you to be a blessing to others in any way you can whenever you can.

Helping God’s People

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

The Lord blesses those who are a blessing to others. The love you show to God’s people as He puts it in your heart to help and encourage them is evidence of your faith and your love for Him. God is not unjust that He would ever forget the work you do or the love you show by helping and ministering to His people. Let God work through you to show love to His people as you grow spiritually and walk in His wisdom and truth. Any good deed you do with a right heart for His glory will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

My Provider

Philippians 4 19

Verse of the Day:  Philippians 4:19

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

If you’ve never gone through something so difficult that you can’t see how you’re going to make it through and you can’t see the light at the end of tunnel these may just feel like words on paper. But I’m here to tell you from personal experience that God will see you through hardships and He will provide for your needs if you trust Him with all of your heart. Turn to the Lord, He is the Light of the world, He is a way maker. It may not be in a way you were expecting but God will provide enough to meet your needs. In times of need, turn to God. In times of plenty, be a blessing to someone in need because sometimes God uses others to bless you and at other times He may ask you to be a blessing to someone else in need.

Let God Work Through You

2 Corinthians 8 5

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 8:5

And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.

Give yourself fully to God, devote yourself to the Lord and allow Him to use you to help others. Be so full of God’s love and joy that it spills over into the lives of those who also need Him. Be there for one another, especially in these difficult times. If you see that someone is struggling, by faith, be a blessing to them. Remember, when you help others God will bless you and provide for your needs too.

Be Generous to the Poor

Proverbs 3 27

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:27

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

God wants you to help the poor and indigent. If you have the opportunity and are able to help someone don’t walk away or turn your back on them when they need you most. God has compassion for the poor and you are called to show His love, kindness and mercy to those in need. Be generous not only with your money but also with your time and talents by letting God work through you to help the destitute. You have been blessed so that you may be a blessing to others and He will not forget the effort and love you show them.

More Blessed to Give than to Receive

Acts 20 35.jpg

Verse of the Day: Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

God has given us more than we could ever deserve and we should follow His example of giving. When we give to the destitute we are spreading God’s love and hope into the hearts of those who receive the gift. When you give in a right spirit it truly is an act of worship and pleases the Lord. Let’s not forget that God gives to us so that we may be generous to others. This Christmas let’s focus on giving rather than receiving.
