A Cheerful Giver

2 Corinthians 9:7

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 9:7

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Spread the love of Christ with the less fortunate this Christmas. God loves a cheerful giver and when He puts in your heart to give, do so cheerfully. There are a couple of weeks left until Christmas so you still have time to make a donation to a worthy cause that helps people in need. Unless you’ve been there yourself, you don’t realize what a difference a little help does make. The simple things we take for granted someone else is praying for. Follow your heart and let God work through you, for the Lord has blessed you so you may bless others. Whether it’s big or small make a donation to your favorite charity and make a difference in the lives of others.

Kindness and Charity

Matthew 25:40

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 25:40

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

As believers in Christ we should be known for our good deeds. We don’t do them because we are trying to get into heaven. Jesus already made the way for us. We do good deeds because of the grace that has been shown to us. We do good deeds because we have the love of God inside of us and we do good deeds because we want to be more like Christ. Love is kind and God commands us to love one another. Be kind, practice random acts of kindness and charity, not because of who they are but because of who you are, a child of God.  Share God’s goodness with those in need. Do what you can as often as you can for as many as you can.

Christlike Compassion

Psalm 72 13

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 72:13

He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And the lives of the needy he will save.

The Lord is merciful and has compassion on the poor and the needy. Not only does He offer salvation for their souls but He also takes care of their physical needs. Jesus made time to heal the sick, feed the hungry and He cared for the weakest among them. We must also have a heart of compassion for those in need. If there’s a specific charity or need that touches your heart, take the next step and make a donation or volunteer your time and service to an organization that addresses those needs. Let Jesus guide you in how you can help the less fortunate.
