You Are Precious in His Sight

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 43:4

Because you are precious in my eyes, you are honored, and I love you.

Are you seeing yourself the way God sees you? Here’s a little reminder for you just in case you have forgotten. You are God’s own creation and God doesn’t make mistakes. You have worth, you are a jewel and you belong to God. You have been adopted into His own family, you are His child and an heir to His kingdom. God has given you gifts and talents to use for His purpose because He has a plan for you. He loves you so much He gave His Only Son so you could have eternal life. Stop worrying about the way the world sees you and start seeing yourself the way God sees you, as His precious child.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for your love and patience. I admit that sometimes I forget my worth and I forget how much You love me. Sometimes, I even worry about what the world thinks of me when deep in my heart I know that what You think of me is what really matters. Help me Lord, to remember that I was chosen by You and that I am precious in Your sight. Help me to remain confident in Your love because I am a child of God almighty. Amen

God is Within You

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 46:5

God is within her, she will not fall

As a child of God you need to know that He dwells in your heart and when God is in your heart you can face anything that comes your way. You no longer have to face anything alone because God is always with you. Put your hope and trust in God and His mighty power to uphold you. He is a present help and you can turn to Him in all circumstances and let His grace and mercy lift you up. God is with you and will help you when you put Him first in your life. You can live with confidence knowing that He is always within you.

Love Yourself

Verse of the Day:  Mark 12:31

The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.

We all know we are supposed to love our neighbors but often we forget the “as yourself” part of this verse. We put everyone else’s needs first but the truth is we can’t love anyone else if we don’t take care of our own health, mind, body and spirit. Many of us struggle with loving and taking care of ourselves. We even feel guilty for doing so, but loving yourself means we give ourselves a reasonable amount of self-care and self-respect. You are a child of God and it’s okay to love yourself with humility and godliness. Make self-care a priority this year, enjoy some “me” time without feeling guilty and remember, you can’t pour out blessings from an empty cup.

God Sent His Son

Galatians 4:4-5

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 4:4-5

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

God had predetermined that He would send His Son, Jesus, to save the world from sin. When that time came He sent Jesus to live among us and to ultimately pay the price for ours sins, bringing redemption to all humanity. Jesus was born and died so that, by faith, we could receive the gift of adoption with the power, authority and privilege from God through Jesus and a right to our heavenly inheritance for all eternity. (Gill’s Exposition)

Kindness and Charity

Matthew 25:40

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 25:40

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

As believers in Christ we should be known for our good deeds. We don’t do them because we are trying to get into heaven. Jesus already made the way for us. We do good deeds because of the grace that has been shown to us. We do good deeds because we have the love of God inside of us and we do good deeds because we want to be more like Christ. Love is kind and God commands us to love one another. Be kind, practice random acts of kindness and charity, not because of who they are but because of who you are, a child of God.  Share God’s goodness with those in need. Do what you can as often as you can for as many as you can.

Your Rights vs. What is Right for You

1 corinthians 10 23

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 10:23

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

You may be determined to demand your rights as a citizen of this country but it’s not always what’s best for you as a Christian. Just because you have the right to do something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right for you. Though it may be lawful, it may not be beneficial to you as a Bible-believing follower of Christ. Do not let your rights become a stumbling block to others. Believers should waive what they have a right to when the peace and welfare of their fellow Christians require it (John Gill). Knowing the difference between your rights and what is right for you as a child of God comes with spiritual maturity and will help you to live according to God’s laws.

Straighten Your Crown

Hebrews 4 16

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 4:16

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

We all have days when we wake up feeling like we just can’t face another day. Don’t let that overwhelming feeling discourage you. Take a deep breath, remind yourself that you are a daughter of the King and straighten your crown. Come boldly to the throne of God to lay your burdens at His feet and receive His mercy and grace for today. God is with you, God is for you and God loves you.

Teaching Children About God

Proverbs 22 6

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

One of the most important things we can ever do is to teach children how much God loves them. Knowing they are loved by God, the Creator, Himself will give them confidence to shine. It’s our responsibility to teach our children the ways of the Lord, to teach them what it means to be a child of God and to pray for and with them. It’s up to us to give them a strong foundation on which they can rely. Let’s be examples for the children in our lives and teach them what it is to know and love God and what it is to be loved by Him. If we don’t teach them to follow Christ the world will teach them not to.

God is Within You

Psalm 46 5

Verse of the Day: Psalm 46:5

God is within her, she will not fall

As a child of God you need to know that He dwells in your heart and when God is in your heart you can face anything that comes your way. You no longer have to face anything alone because God is always with you. Put your hope and trust in God and in His mighty power to uphold you. He is a present help and you can turn to Him in all circumstances to let His grace and mercy lift you up. God is with you and will help you when you put Him first in your life. You can live with confidence knowing that He is always within you.

Your Rights vs. What is Right for You

1 corinthians 10 23

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 10:23

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

Honestly, this is a hard lesson to learn for many, including myself. You may be determined to demand your rights as a citizen of this country but it’s not always what’s best for you as a Christian.  Just because you have the right to do something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right for you.  Knowing the difference between your rights and what is right for you as a child of God comes with spiritual maturity.
