Verse of the Day: James 4:17
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, in fact it may be downright hard. If you know the right thing to do and you don’t it, eventually, it will catch up to you in one way or another and it will only make things worse. Admit your mistakes, learn from them and strive to always do the right thing.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 25:21-22
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.
Have you ever heard the expression “kill them with kindness”? It means to put an end to anger and bitterness by showing kindness and generosity. As metals are melted by heaping coals upon them, so is the heart softened by kindness. (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary) The more you treat your enemy with unexpected kindness and generosity the more they will see the same love, forgiveness, mercy and grace that the Lord shows you.
Verse of the Day: Philippians 3:10
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death
There is a difference in knowing about someone and knowing someone and there is a difference between knowing what someone does and knowing who someone is. You may have known about Jesus all your life but until you seek Him with all of your heart you won’t really know Him as your personal Savior. You won’t have a personal relationship with Him until you start spending time with Him. The more time you spend with Him the more you will become like Him. You have a friend in Jesus, start getting to really know Him.
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Spread the love of Christ with your fellow man this Christmas. There are a couple of weeks left until Christmas so you still have time to make a donation to a worthy cause that helps the needy. Follow your heart and remember that the Lord has blessed you so you can bless others. Whether it’s big or small make a donation to your favorite charity, every bit helps and makes a difference in the lives of others.
Verse of the Day: Matthew 9:36
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
We are called to be like Christ – gentle, caring, loving and compassionate. Everywhere you look there are people that need help, especially right now with all these natural disasters happening. People are hurting and need help, it’s up to us as Christians to find a way to do what we can to help them.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:20
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
As Godly women who love the Lord it should be our mission to help the poor and needy. That doesn’t mean we all have to do extraordinary things. Sometimes it’s simply a kind word or a sincere gesture. Each of us should do what God puts in our hearts and do it with love.
Verse of the Day: Philippians 2:5
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus
In everything you do, as you connect with people, follow the example that Jesus Christ gave us. Be humble and put others first, show them the love of Christ, and let them see Jesus in you.
