Keep Praying and Singing

Acts 16 25

Verse of the Day:  Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Paul and Silas were in a pretty bad situation. They had been beaten and thrown into prison. They had every reason to be bitter and angry, but because of their love and faith in Jesus they chose to pray and sing to God despite their current circumstances. Whatever difficult situation you may find yourself in today, keep praying and singing to God. Keep praising God no matter what the circumstances. Keep praising Him until He gives you the victory.

Harsh Words Stir Anger

Proverbs 15 1 (2)

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 15:1

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Do your words build people up or tear them down? More importantly, do they reflect the love of God? Sometimes in the heat of the moment we may say unkind, cruel things that we really don’t mean, but once said they cannot be unheard. Reckless words cut deep and leave emotional scars and uncontrolled anger is hurtful to both the person who harbors it and to those around them. Learn to control your anger and choose your words wisely especially in difficult situations. Let your words be an encouragement and an inspiration to those who hear them. Let your words direct others to God’s love instead of stirring up anger.

My Helper

Psalm 54 4

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 54:4

Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Throughout the Bible there are stories of people who were in difficult situations but they made it through because they trusted in the Lord. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He helps those who put their faith, hope and trust in Him. Confidently look to God for help in all circumstances.

God’s Will Not Mine

Matthew 26 39.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 26:39

And going a little farther, He fell on His face and prayed, saying, my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me, nevertheless; not as I will, but as you will.

Jesus gave us the example of how to pray when going through something difficult. He prayed to God saying, if it’s possible let this difficult situation pass from me but let it be what you want, not what I want. God knows everything from the beginning to the end we just need to trust Him and pray for His will to be done in our lives.

Don’t Give Up, Give It All to God

1 11-9 1

Verse of the Day:   Acts 20:19

I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing (by the plots of my Jewish opponents).

There are times when we will go through something so difficult we cannot see the light of day through our tears and our faith is being severely tested. You might even feel like giving up on God but that’s when you need Him most.  Prayer is the most powerful weapon you have.  Cry out to God, He hears you and He loves you. Don’t give up instead give it all to God.
