Keep on Speaking

Acts 18 9.jpg

Verse of the Day: Acts 18:9

One night the Lord spoke to Paul, “Do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent.

The Apostle Paul was in Corinth where his safety may have been at risk for sharing the Good News. It would have been so much easier to just stay quiet but the Lord directed him to not be afraid, to keep speaking and to not be silent and because Paul obeyed the Lord the church in Corinth flourished. We’re living in a society where everyone wants to give their opinion on anything and everything. As believers in Christ we must be courageous and willing to stand up for what we believe in, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Don’t be afraid to share Jesus with the world. The world needs to know that Jesus came to save them. Don’t worry if you don’t know the right words to say, just tell them what God has done for you.

Christ the Savior is Born!

Luke 2 1-21.jpg

Verse of the Day: Luke 2:1-21

 The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This census took place before Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Joy to the World, the Lord is Come!

Luke 2 10-11.jpg

Verse of the Day: Luke 2:10-11

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Over 2000 years ago an angel appeared to shepherds bringing good news. The promised Messiah, the Savior had been born. God had a divine plan for our salvation and Jesus was born to lay down His life for all people. The good news of the Savior’s birth is the reason for great joy and celebration! Just this morning I was watching the news and they were talking about taking religion out of Christmas to make it more inclusive. Jesus is the reason we celebrate and He already made it inclusive for all people. You can’t have Christmas without Christ.

Peace

John 14 27

Verse of the Day:  John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Things are going to happen in life that make you sad, afraid or are just hard to get through. Don’t be troubled or afraid Jesus is the Prince of Peace and has given you the peace that is revealed in the Gospel. He’s left you peace that was paid for with His precious blood when He gave His life for you on Calvary. You cannot get true peace by your own means, nothing in this world will bring you true peace because the world does not have peace. By faith you are able to receive this precious gift of peace that is Jesus Christ Himself. When your heart is hurting, troubled or afraid turn to Jesus. He’ll give you peace beyond anything compared to in this world and it is available to all that will trust in Him.

Deep Waters

Isaiah 43 2

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 43:2

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

In the midst of the deep waters of life all believers can take comfort in God’s favor and love for His people. You don’t have to be afraid of difficulties that lie ahead because God is for you. And if God is for you, who can be against you? Do not fear, do not let your heart be anxious instead be encouraged because God is with you. If you let God fight your battle He will see you through and you will not be overcome. He hasn’t brought you this far to give up on you now.

You Can Face Tomorrow

2 Chronicles 20 17

Verse of the Day:  2 Chronicles 20:17

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.

God knows the battles you face each day.  If you want deliverance you need to give all your troubles to the Lord and let Him fight for you. You don’t have to be afraid and you don’t have to be discouraged, instead stand firm in your faith.  You are not alone and you can face tomorrow because the Lord is with you.
