Verse of the Day: Psalm 14:1
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
Today is April Fools’ day, an annual day in which people play practical jokes, pranks and hoaxes. However, only a real fool would deny the existence of God. Where you will spend eternity is no joking matter. Matthew 25:46 says: And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. Don’t be fooled into thinking there is no God, seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)
Verse of the Day: Psalm 40:5
Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.
God is good all the time and He has wonderful blessings planned for you, including the gift of salvation. Jesus came to save the lost, to free the enslaved and to offer the gift of eternal life. There is no way we could even begin to count all of God’s blessings. There is no other like our God and He is worthy to be praised for His goodness and mercy.
Verse of the Day: John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
The star was shining brightly in the City of David on the night the Savior was born. God sent his only Son to offer the grace of the gospel, eternal life and salvation, that the world through Him might be saved. The birth of Christ, the Messiah, was proclaimed by angels to the shepherds who went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus lying in the manger. This Christmas Eve reflect on and share what it means to you to have been given the greatest gift ever, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:15
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
Christmas is two weeks away and many of us have finished or are close to finishing our gift shopping, some haven’t even started! No matter where we are in our gift buying we all have the same goal of giving our loved ones the perfect gift. But God has already given us the perfect gift. Because of His great love for us, He gave us a gift that is more valuable than any other gift we could ever receive on Christmas day or any other time. He gave us His only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and through Jesus we have the opportunity to receive forgiveness, peace, hope, love, righteousness, redemption, joy, victory, eternal life and so much more because of His ultimate sacrifice. Thank God for the gift too wonderful for words!
Verse of the Day: Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. Yet, because of God’s love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price and set us free. Eternal life is given to us by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast that he earned or deserved eternal life, it is a free gift from God.
Verse of the Day: John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loved each one of us so much He gave the greatest gift ever, His only Son, Jesus Christ. God gave us His Son and the Son gave His life for us. This was all part of the plan of salvation so we could receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. Because of God’s grace and mercy, the gift of salvation is available to all through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Until we find the path that leads us back to God we will have a longing to be complete. The only thing that can fill the emptiness is the love of God. This world is not our home, heaven if our final destination. We are merely on the road that leads us to our Father’s house. How wonderful to be on the path that was laid out for us by our creator for one day we will be seated at His right hand in the joyful presence of our Savior.
