Hope

Jeremiah 17 7

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 17:7

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.

Hope is confidence in God’s love, His promises and in His Word. Hope is the anticipation of drawing closer to God. Hope is the optimism you have in knowing that no matter what may come God will get you through it. Hope is the assurance you have in knowing that with God all things are possible. Hope is the confidence you have in the Savior and the expectation of spending eternity with our heavenly Father. Hope is a blessing from God and when you put your hope in Him you won’t be disappointed.

To Him I Belong

Jeremiah 10 23

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 10:23

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.

The devil tries to trick you into thinking “this is my life and I can do what I want with it”.  We know that the devil is a liar and that kind of thinking only leads to sin. The truth is, your life is not your own, you belong to God. When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and surrendered your life to God you became a new creation. God has a plan for your life and He promises to guide and direct your steps in the way you should go. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and the Holy Spirit will take you down a path of truth and obedience that leads to an eternity in heaven.

Let God Guide You

Psalm 48 14

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 48:14

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

We all need directions to get us to where we want to go. Spiritually speaking, it’s the same thing. God has given us a spiritual compass, the Holy Spirit, to guide us through life every step of the way. He has given us a “map”, the Holy Bible, to show us the way we should go. God guides us in truth and with love through deep waters to peace and salvation and He will never leave us. If we are obedient and follow His instructions, He will lead us day by day to the promised land.

Joyful – Patient – Faithful

Romans 12 12

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

The Christian life is not always easy. Jesus said we will have troubles but we can have peace because He overcame the world (John 16:33). We can be joyful in the hope we have in Jesus Christ because we have salvation and the hope of being with the Lord forever in heaven. We can be patient during troubled times because we know our faith is being made stronger while we rely fully on God for healing, comfort, provisions and peace. Be faithful in your prayer life regardless of what is happening in the world and especially in times of tribulation. Don’t be discouraged by what is happening around you instead take every concern, every fear and every doubt straight to the throne of God.

Grow

2 Peter 3 18

Verse of the Day:  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Christianity is long-term, it’s for all eternity and like every living thing it’s a growing process. We start off as babes and grow to full maturity, we develop as we grow. Growing doesn’t mean we never fail because we will never be perfect in this world. But, we do start to see our sin and the Holy Spirit’s convictions help us to repent from them. God will continue to work on you until the day Jesus comes for His church. We must do our part too, we can’t just stay where we are today we must continue working at it so that we may grow our knowledge of God, our relationship with God and our faith in God.

Don’t Be Fooled

Psalm 14 1

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 14:1

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”

Today is April Fools’ day, an annual day in which people play practical jokes, pranks and hoaxes. However, only a real fool would deny the existence of God. Where you will spend eternity is no joking matter. Matthew 25:46 says: And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. Don’t be fooled into thinking there is no God, seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. (Isaiah 55:6)

Life’s Instruction Manual

proverbs 3 1-2

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:1-2

Do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

People often joke about life not coming with an instruction manual. It actually does, it’s called The Holy Bible. The Book of Proverbs is an excellent place to start if you’re looking for instructions. It is an example of the Biblical wisdom tradition, and raises questions of values, moral behavior, the meaning of human life, and right conduct. (Wikipedia) If we live our lives according to God’s commands and keep His Word in our heart we can avoid many problems and live a long, peaceful and prosperous life.  Even better than that, we can live forever in heaven.

Praise God!

Psalm 150 6

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 150:6

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.

No matter what is going on in your life, God is worthy of your praise. If things are going well, praise Him. If things aren’t going well, praise Him. Praise God through faith, with love and confidence of His goodness. Praise Him for the victory of salvation. Praise Him cheerfully and with joy for His love and mercy endure forever. God is great and worthy of all praise. As long as you have breath in your body praise the Lord. And when you get to heaven you can praise Him for all eternity!

God Sent His Son

Galatians 4 4-5.jpg

Verse of the Day: Galatians 4:4-5

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

God had predetermined that He would send His Son, Jesus, to save the world from sin. When that time came He sent Jesus to live among us and to ultimately pay the price for ours sins, bringing redemption to all humanity. Jesus was born and died so that through faith we could receive the gift of adoption with the power, authority and privilege from God through Jesus and a right to our heavenly inheritance for all eternity. (Gill’s Exposition)

Is It Worth Your Soul?

Mark 8 36

Verse of the Day:  Mark 8:36

What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

There is nothing in this world worth losing your soul for. That may sound harsh but it is the reality.  A big house, expensive car, your career, fame, fortune, none of it is worth losing your soul. You can’t take any of those things with you into eternity. It may feel or seem good in the moment but your time on earth is just a speck compared to all eternity. Whatever pulls you away from God needs to go, let nothing come between you and God. Instead, put Jesus first and live a life of faith and holiness. Don’t lose your soul over something temporary and just to be clear, everything on earth is temporary.
