Actions Speak Louder than Words

1 John 3 18 3

Verse of the Day: 1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

It’s not always about the words you use when you try to tell people about Jesus. Sometimes actions do speak louder than words and it’s the way you live for Christ that makes the most impact.  Whether you know it or not, people are watching you. They are watching to see if your actions match your words. They know you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk? No one is perfect and God is continually working in us but we can try our best to live a life of humility and integrity. Follow the example of Jesus and try your best to do everything with love. “May your life preach more loudly than your lips.” – William Ellery Channing

Stop Comparing Yourself

Galatians 6 4

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 6:4 (NLT)

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.

Don’t fall into the enemy’s trap of comparing yourself to anyone else. Comparing yourself to someone who is better off than you can cause you to become jealous or envious. Likewise, comparing yourself to someone who is not doing as well as you are could cause you to become vain and prideful. Just concern yourself with your own actions and conduct but if you are determined to compare yourself, compare yourself to Christ. Focus on being the best person you can be by following the example of Jesus Christ and live your life according to God’s Word.

Serving

Mark 10 45.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Even though Jesus was born King, by His own example He teaches us humility.  The Bible says that Jesus did not come to be served but to serve.  As ambassadors of Christ our lives should exemplify His traits and should reflect Christ in us. Let’s follow His example of humility by serving the less fortunate this holiday season and throughout the year.
