Use Your Gifts

Romans 12 6-8

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:6-8

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

By the grace of God, He has given you gifts specific to the purpose He has planned for you and the church. Not everyone has the same gift, each one of us is unique but together we make the body of Christ complete. There are different types of gifts but it is the same God that works in all of you. As part of the body of Christ, it’s your responsibility to discover how to use those gifts for the good of the church and humanity. Whatever your gift is, your goal should be to use it to the best of your ability for God’s purpose so that He may be glorified.

Helping God’s People

Hebrews 6 10

Verse of the Day: Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

The Lord blesses those who are a blessing to others.  The love you show to God’s people as He puts it in your heart to help them is evidence of your faith and your love for Him. Whether you give monetarily, provide goods and services, donate your time or give encouragement God sees all that you do. He never forgets the work you do or the love you show by helping His people and when you get to heaven you will surely receive your eternal reward.

Helping Others

Acts 20 35 (2)

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

I once read an article about random acts of kindness raising dopamine levels and boosting your mood. Shortly afterwards I happened to read Acts 20:35 and it all made sense.  We feel good when we do good deeds for others because we are blessed when we give unselfishly. Give what you can whether it’s your time, money, goods or encouragement and you will be blessed.
