Verse of the Day: Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Everyone has days when they feel discouraged, when they feel like giving up or when they just have a really bad day. Those are the days when all you can do is turn to God and give it all to him. When you do, he reminds you that no matter what you’re going through he is with you and he’ll never leave you.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 3:3
But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Thanksgiving Day is over and not everyone has or was able to spend time with family and friends. For some, the holidays can be lonely and even a sad time. I sometimes feel it too. I miss loved ones that have passed and those who can’t be near me. But we are not alone, God is with us in every moment of every day. If we focus on the Lord, His goodness and our blessings He will get us through it.
Verse of the Day: Acts 20:19
I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents.
There will be times when you will go through something so difficult you cannot see the light of day through your tears and your faith will be tested. You might even feel like giving up on God but that’s when you need Him most. Prayer is the most powerful weapon you have. Cry out to God, He hears you and He loves you. Don’t give up instead give it all to God.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Even David, a man after God’s heart sinned against God, but he recognized that he needed a profound change of heart and spirit and he knew he could not make this change on his own. No matter how much you try to change on your own it’s not going to happen until you give it to God. God is the creator of your heart and the only one who can renew your soul and spirit.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Often, we are so tempted to try and work everything out for ourselves but what we really need to do is to just let go and give it all to God. When you are struggling to make things work out the way you want them to that’s when it’s time to stop, be still, abide in His Word and let God’s will be done. Surrender your need to control the situation and let God be in charge of your life, His ways are always better.
