#Relationship Goals

1 John 5 20

Verse of the Day:  1 John 5:20

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Do you know about Jesus or do you really know Him on a personal level? Just knowing who He is, is not enough. Our goal in life should be to really get to know Christ by having a deep and personal relationship with Him for through Him we belong to God. What a privilege it is to have been given the knowledge of Christ our Lord and Savior and to believe and trust in the true God who came to give us eternal life.

Depend on God

Isaiah 40 29

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Today’s society teaches that independence is the goal but what we need most is to be dependent on God almighty. If we learn to trust and hope in the Lord, He will give us physical strength when we’re weary and power when we’re weak. More importantly, He will strengthen our faith. Even if we have faith the size of a mustard seed that’s enough to get us through because the power does not come from our faith, it comes from our God. Yet, the more we depend on God and have faith in His power, the more our faith will grow. Depend on God, have faith in His power, promises and provisions.

Be Kind to Everyone

Luke 6 35

Verse of the Day:  Luke 6:35

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.  Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

God commands us to love our enemies and do good to them. For some this may be harder than others, but if we are grounded in God’s love and mercy, we can move past our human nature and into the spiritual characteristic of Christ. Our heavenly Father has shown us great love and mercy and expects us to be kind even to those who are ungrateful and wicked, not because they deserve it, but because we are striving to live a life that pleases God.

Our goal in life should be to really get to know Christ by having a deep and personal relationship with Him.  We need to make this our priority if we want to spend eternity in the presence of the Lord.

Use Your Gifts

Romans 12 6-8

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:6-8

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

God has given you gifts specific to the purpose He has planned for you.  As part of the body of Christ, it’s your responsibility to discover how to use those gifts to bless the world around you.  Whatever your gift is, your goal should be to use it to the best of your ability for God’s purpose so that He may be glorified.

Different Task, Same Goal

Acts 20 24

Verse of the Day:  Acts 20:24

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

God has given each of us different gifts to be used for His purpose.  We should be content with what we’ve been given and use these gifts to the best of our ability. We each may have a different task but the goal is the same for all of us, to finish the race and to complete the task we’ve been assigned.

Depend on God

Dream Big!

Matthew 9 29.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 9:29

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”

If you want God to do something big in your life this year you need to have big faith and big expectations.

Keep God First

Colossians 3 2.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

This is the time of year when we start thinking about New Year’s resolutions.  We decide to make changes and declare goals that will improve our lives.  The Bible tells us we should set our minds on things above and that our thoughts and goals should be focused on Christ and our future home, heaven.  As we contemplate our New Year’s resolutions let’s be mindful to include goals that allow us to put God first in our lives.
