10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 3: I’m Thankful for Another Day of Life

Psalm 106:1

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 106:1

Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

I woke up this morning and if you’re reading this so did you, but not everyone did, so be thankful for another day of life. Praise God and give thanks to the Lord. He is deserving of all praise. No matter what is going on in your life there is always something to be thankful for. Our praise should not depend on how we feel but on who God is. God’s love is forever and He is always good, gracious, merciful and ready to forgive. Start your day with praise because life is a precious gift from God and as long as you have breath in your lungs you ought to give thanks to the Lord.

Confess Your Sins to God

1 john 1 9

Verse of the Day:  1 John 1:9

If we confess our sin, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Even on our best days we still sin in our daily lives and unconfessed sin can be a stumbling block that keeps us from having fellowship with God. Although our past, present and future sins have been paid for by Jesus Christ, we must confess our personal and daily sins to God to stay in good standing. The Bible says, The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayers of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29) When we confess our sins we are forgiven and purified from unrighteousness. Humbly come before the Lord and honestly confess your sins against Him for He alone is able to truly forgive. God is merciful and ready to forgive, don’t let unconfessed sin come between you and the Lord.

Forgiveness

Psalm 86 5 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 86:5

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

God hates sin but He loves the sinners. If not for His love, mercy and forgiveness where would we be? He is good to all and offers forgiveness to anyone who calls on His holy name. He loves us so much He sent His only Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins so we could receive His forgiveness and mercy. He is ready to forgive and He won’t withhold His mercy. No sin is too great that He can’t forgive it. Come to Him with a sincere heart and ask to be forgiven through faith. Accept the Lord’s forgiveness and know that God will wipe the slate clean and give you a new start.

Unconfessed sin can be a stumbling block that keeps you from getting closer to God.  The Bible says, The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayers of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29)   Even on your best days there may be sin in your life. When you pray, humbly come before the Lord and honestly confess your sins relying on His mercy and forgiveness through the righteousness of Christ.
