Verse of the Day: 1 John 4:16
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
God is love, is the first Bible verse I ever learned. I still remember the days when as a child I would walk to the front of our church, right up to the microphone set up for the children to recite Bible verses and proudly say, “God is love”. Let your first thoughts of the day be “God is love” and “God loves me”. When you come to really know and rely on these truths it will change the way you react to things that happen throughout your day. God loves you so much He sent His only Son to be your Savior. There is no greater love than the love God has for you. No matter what happens remind yourself that it’s going to be okay because God loves you. You can rely on God’s love for you and His strength will get you through the most difficult days if only you would trust in His unfailing love for you.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 86:5
You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.
God hates sin but He loves the sinners. If not for His love, mercy and forgiveness where would we be? He is good to all and offers forgiveness to anyone who calls on His holy name. He loves us so much He sent His only Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins so we could receive His forgiveness and mercy. He is ready to forgive and He won’t withhold His mercy. No sin is too great that He can’t forgive it. Come to Him with a sincere heart and ask to be forgiven through faith. Accept the Lord’s forgiveness and know that God will wipe the slate clean and give you a new start.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:3
Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. (NASB)
Love is kind and your kindness shows compassion to the people you love. Often in relationships we slip into a comfortable state where we take each other for granted, not intentionally, but it happens and we no longer go out of our way to be kind. The Word of God tell us over and over again that we should be kind to one another even to strangers so how much more should we intentionally be kind to our loved ones? When we have a relationship with God we come to understand what He has done for us because He loves us so much. His love changes us, it makes us kinder, compassionate, caring and forgiving. Because God has been so kind to us let’s choose to intentionally go out of our way to show kindness to the people we love.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 43:4
Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.
Are you seeing yourself the way God sees you? Here’s a little reminder for you in case you have forgotten. You are God’s own creation and God doesn’t make mistakes. You have worth, you are a jewel and you belong to God. You have been adopted into His own family, you are His child and an heir to His kingdom. God has given you gifts and talents to use for His purpose because He has a plan for you. He loves you so much He gave His Only Son so you could have eternal life. Stop worrying about the way the world sees you and start seeing yourself the way God sees you, as His precious daughter.
Verse of the Day: Psalm 143:10
Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your gracious Spirit lead me on level ground.
God loves us so much that He gave us commands to obey that lead us towards His goodness and mercy and away from a path that leads to destruction. If left to our own devices surely, we would stumble and fall into a life of sin. But God had mercy on us and sent the Holy Spirit to guide us onto the straight and narrow path that leads to God. However, if you want to be led to do God’s will first you must have a teachable spirit which goes hand in hand with humility.
