God Sent His Son

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 4:4-5

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.

Faith in Action: Thank your heavenly Father for sending His Son to bring redemption to all that would believe. By faith, receive the gift of adoption into God’s family.

Thank You Heavenly Father for sending Your Son to save the world and bring redemption to all humanity so that our sins would be forgiven and we could be adopted into Your family. Amen

O Holy Night

Verse of the Day:  John 3:17

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The star was shining brightly in the City of David on the night the Savior was born. God sent His only Son to offer the grace of the gospel, eternal life and salvation, that the world through Him might be saved. The birth of Christ, the Messiah, was proclaimed by angels to the shepherds who went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus lying in the manger. This Christmas Eve, reflect on and share what it means to you to have been given the greatest gift ever, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

The Gift of Eternal Life

Romans 6:23

Verse of the Day:  Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. Yet, because of God’s great love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price that set us free. Eternal life is a gift given to us by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast about earning or deserving eternal life, it is a free gift from God. Eternal life is not just life after death and it’s not just the destination of heaven. It’s also the present journey of knowing the one and only true God and Jesus Christ. True eternal life begins with a personal relationship with the Lord. Start living eternally and not merely existing, love one another and love the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength and mind.

Guilt, Shame and Forgiveness

Psalm 51:1-2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 51:1-2

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

There isn’t anything you can do to earn God’s forgiveness. You are forgiven because of who God is not who you are. You are forgiven because God is merciful, loving and compassionate towards His people. God sent His only Son to pay the price for your sins. Pour out your soul to God for mercy and grace. Confess that you are a sinner who needs a Savior and believe that Jesus died to save you. You have been washed from your sins by the precious blood of the Lamb. Repent from your sin and let go of the guilt and shame of sin you’ve been carrying with you because God has forgiven you and wiped your slate clean. It’s time for you to forgive yourself and start living the life God planned for you.

Mercy

Titus 3 5 (2)

Verse of the Day: Titus 3:5

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.

The dictionary describes mercy as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone to whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. We are all born sinners with sinful, selfish natures because of the sin that entered the world through Adam and Eve. We deserve the condemnation that came as a result of sin, which is death. But, because of God’s tender mercy, He sent His only Son to pay the price of sin so that we could be saved and made righteous. Instead of punishment, His merciful, free gift of salvation brings forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Forgiveness

Psalm 86 5 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 86:5

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

God hates sin but He loves the sinners. If not for His love, mercy and forgiveness where would we be? He is good to all and offers forgiveness to anyone who calls on His holy name. He loves us so much He sent His only Son to die on the cross to pay for our sins so we could receive His forgiveness and mercy. He is ready to forgive and He won’t withhold His mercy. No sin is too great that He can’t forgive it. Come to Him with a sincere heart and ask to be forgiven through faith. Accept the Lord’s forgiveness and know that God will wipe the slate clean and give you a new start.
