Pray for Believers and Unbelievers

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 3:16-18          

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Just like the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, we need to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they may be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit. We also need to pray for our family, friends, even our enemies and the world in general so that they would come to know Jesus Christ our Savior and invite Him into their heart and experience His infinite love first hand. Pray that they would come to truly know the Lord, His grace, glory and how much He really does love them.

Lord, I’m so thankful for Your love and mercy. Your love is better than life itself. I pray that You would dwell in the hearts of my family and loved ones so that they would be able to experience Your love for themselves. You are so glorious, Lord, and I invite You into my life and into my heart. Amen

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 9: Thankful for Everything

Ephesians 5:20

Verse of the Day:   Ephesians 5:20   

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.      

I am truly thankful for everything God has done for me and the plans He has for my future. I am thankful for everything He has blessed me with, it’s more than I could ever deserve. I’m thankful because I know my God hears me, sees me, loves me and is always there for me. I’m thankful for my salvation and for the relationship I have with my Savior. I’m also thankful for God’s love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. I give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 6: Thankful for God’s Love and Kindness

Jeremiah 31:3

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 31:3

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

I’m thankful for God’s love and kindness. To be honest, I’m not always easy to love. I have good days and I have bad days and sometimes I feel moody and just want to be left alone. These are things I’m working on with the help of the Lord. But, I thank my God that no matter how I feel, His love for me never changes. It’s not a temporary love, but one that keeps on proving over and over how much He loves me. God confirms His love for me daily as He forgives, protects, provides, heals and demonstrates His continued grace, mercy and power in my life. God’s magnificent love is sovereign, unchangeable, everlasting and nothing can ever separate me or you from His great love for us. God’s love is life changing and when you begin to believe that He loves you, He always has and He always will you’ll no longer be the same. So, today I just want to thank God for loving me and always being there for me.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 1: Thankful for All of God’s Wonderful Deeds

Psalm 9:1

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 9:1 

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.       

Thanksgiving Day is quickly approaching and I thought it would be nice to share some of the things I am thankful for. The Lord has been so, so good to me. I am thankful for everything the Lord has done for me and like King David, I want to share His wonderful deeds and goodness with the world. I am grateful for another day of life, for my salvation and for God’s love, grace and mercy. Without them where would I be? The Lord rescued me from a life of sin and although I am not perfect, I am not who I used to be. He has broken the chains that bound me and set me free. I have a roof over my head, food on the table and clothes on my back. The Lord provides for all my needs and so much more. I have an amazing husband who loves the Lord, loves me and loves our family.  I am blessed beyond measure!

Intercession by the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:26

Verse of the Day:  Romans 8:26       

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.        

Even on our best days we may struggle to find the words to pray. We may lack the wisdom to know exactly what we need but the Holy Spirit is there to help us. And on our worse days, we may come before God feeling defeated and overwhelmed to the point where words cannot convey what we want or need to say. Tears may stream down our face as we humbly come before the almighty God. It’s okay if we don’t have the right words or any words at all. The Holy Spirit searches our heart, will intercede for us and help us by interpreting what is in our heart. The Holy Spirit that lives in us also helps us to remember God’s promises, reminds us of God’s love, acts as a comforter in our suffering and gives us strength. Let the Holy Spirit work in you, lead you and guide you through prayer and in life.

A Change of Heart and Renewed Spirit

Psalm 51:10

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 51:10         

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Even David, a man after God’s heart sinned against God, but he recognized that he needed a profound change of heart and spirit and he knew he could not make this change on his own. For out of the heart come evil thoughts–murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. (Matthew 15:19) No matter how much you try to change on your own at best the changes will only be temporary. Only God’s love and mercy can transform a sinful, stubborn heart of stone and only God can truly renew your spirit. If you are ready for a change of heart and spirit, ask the One who created it to change it.

Pray for All People

1 Timothy 2:1

Verse of the Day:  1 Timothy 2:1       

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people

Take time to pray for your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Pray for your pastor and your church. Pray for our leaders and people in authority and while you’re at it, pray for your enemies as well. Pray that God would protect them and keep them from any evil the enemy has planned. Pray for God to bless and provide for them knowing that all good things come from our Heavenly Father. Humbly come before the Lord with your specific prayers asking God for His will to be done as you intercede for others. Whether your prayers our general or specific, thank God for hearing your prayer and thank Him for His love and mercy for all people. We don’t always know what people are going through but we can be sure that they can always use our prayers and we can be confident that no prayer is ever wasted.

Smile, Jesus Loves You!

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 15:13     

A cheerful heart brings a smile to your face; a sad heart makes it hard to get through the day.   

Even though there may be things going on in our lives that make us feel sad, we cannot let them bring us down. There is still good in the world, there are still good people and there is still a reason to smile. If you’re having a bad day, feeling stressed out or feeling blue think about all the good things in your life and all that God has done for you. Think about your salvation and God’s love and forgiveness. Count your blessings and not your troubles and remember, Jesus loves you and will never leave you and that’s more than enough reason to smile.

Wait, Hope, Believe   

Psalm 27 14 2

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

We’re not always good at waiting, it’s just our nature. We get impatient, frustrated and start to doubt God’s will in our lives. Instead we need to be confident in God’s love for us. We need to wait on the Lord’s timing, hope in His mercy and believe in His promises!

You Are Royalty

1 Peter 2 9

Verse of the Day: 1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of his who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

You have been chosen by God to be royalty. You may not have been born on this earth as royalty but because you were chosen and belong to our heavenly Father, you are the daughter of the King and not just any king, the King of all the heavens and earth! You are God’s special possession and of great worth. Praise God for His love, for choosing to have a special relationship with you and for calling you out of the darkness and into His wonderful light.
