Go and Bear Fruit

John 15 16 (2)

Verse of the Day:  John 15:16

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Just like the Disciples, you have been chosen to be part of the body of Christ. God chose you to be part of His family even before the foundation of the world. You are a part of His plan and you have a purpose. You have been appointed to go out and bear fruit, to share the Gospel of Christ and bring souls to Jesus. We, as believers in Christ, are all ministers in that we are working for God’s kingdom. You are encouraged continue the work God has called you to do and if you ask the Father in Jesus’ name, He will give you whatever you need to be successful and fruitful.

Not Just a Sunday Event

Psalm 91 1

Verse of the Day: Psalm 91:1

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

When we choose God to be our shelter from the storms of life we find rest, peace and all that we will ever need. By faith we find comfort in the loving arms of God Almighty. When we trust in God’s plan for our lives and stay in His will we have nothing to fear. This is not just a Sunday event, this is a life-long journey and an intimate relationship. Seek Him with all your heart, invite Him in to every part of your life and stay in His gracious presence every day.

Grace

Ephesians 2 8

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Salvation is a gift graciously given from God because of His great and eternal love for us. You cannot buy it, earn it, work for it or get it based on your own abilities. It is the free, undeserved goodness and favor of God and it is a gift you can only receive by faith. Through God’s plan and His covenant of grace, Jesus paid for this gift when He died on the cross for our sins. As believers, everything we have, everything we are and everything we do is all because of God’s saving, forgiving and redeeming grace that blesses us all.

Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart

Proverbs 3 5 a

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

There are going to be times when you say, “God, I don’t understand why this is happening.”  That’s when you must learn to accept that you will not always understand everything God is doing. That’s when you just have to trust that God has a plan and that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Life is not always going to be easy but if you learn to trust God with all your heart you will have peace, joy and happiness in this life no matter what is happening around you.

Name Above All Names

Isaiah 9 6

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 9:6

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The Messiah, a gift from God, His only Son was born to save mankind. He is described as Wonderful because of His glorious nature, Counselor because He knew God’s plan and revealed it to us. He is called Mighty God because He is God as well as man, Everlasting Father of all believers.  He is the Prince of Peace who purchased peace between God and men when He died on the cross for our sins. God gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)

Emmanuel

Matthew 1 23

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 1:23

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Emmanuel which means “God with us”.

The prophecy by Isaiah, which was inspired by God, revealed the birth of Jesus by a virgin and that they would call Him Emmanuel, which means God with us. The Gospel of Matthew interprets this as the birth of the Messiah and the fulfillment of scripture in Jesus. This was all part of God’s divine plan for the salvation of man and the restoration of fellowship between God and man. How wonderful to know that God loves us so much He sent His only Son to dwell with us and will be with us until the end of the world.

God Can Turn It Around

Genesis 50 20.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

This is one of my favorite Bible verses because it reminds me that no matter what the devil tries to use to harm us God can turn it around and it use it for good. God can use your past to help others and your deepest pain can be used to set your calling in motion. God has a plan and a purpose for your life so no matter you’ve been through, what’s been done to you or what you’ve done God can still use you for His purpose. Trust in God and don’t give up.

To Him I Belong

Jeremiah 10 23

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 10:23

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.

The devil tries to trick you into thinking “this is my life and I can do what I want with it”. That kind of thinking only leads to sin and we know that the devil is a liar. The truth is your life is not your own, you belong to God. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you become a new creation. God has a plan for your life and when you surrender your life to Him, He will direct your steps.

Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26 3.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

No matter what you go through, if you stay focused on the Lord and trust in Him, He will give you peace to get through anything. Give up your need to control every situation and just let God have His way.  Let Him give you the peace your heart longs for.
