Verse of the Day: Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
The Lord has commanded you to be strong and courageous. When you are afraid and discouraged turn to God. It doesn’t matter what it is, you don’t have to do it alone, He will be with you every step of the way. Trust in God and by His power He will give you the strength and courage to get through anything.
Verse of the Day: Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
I am a witness to God’s power changing lives. For I am no longer the same and now through the power of the Holy Spirit I am a witness to God’s message of love and forgiveness. You too are a witness and can share what the Lord has done for you.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 40:29
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Today’s society teaches that independence is the goal but what we need most is to be dependent on the Lord. If we learn to trust and hope in God, he will give us strength when we’re weary and power when we’re weak. You can depend on God, his power, promises and provisions.
Verse of the Day: Galatians 5:16
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
It doesn’t matter what kind of temptation comes knocking at your door you can only get so far with your own willpower. You may be able to fight temptation yourself for a little while but soon willpower alone will not be enough. Instead of trusting your own willpower, turn to God and trust in his power. Instead of trying to do it on your own, walk by the Spirit and be victorious.
