Godly Wisdom

James 3:17

Verse of the Day:  James 3:17

Wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

There is a difference between people who have Godly wisdom and people who are wise in their own eyes. Godly wisdom comes from the Lord and it gives us the desire to live a life that is obedient and respectful to God and His holiness no matter what trials we face. It helps us to see the best in people, to be patient and to forgive others and it also help us to step back in the interest of peace when appropriate. It allows us to be open to receiving good advice and godly counsel. It compels us to be merciful and compassionate toward all people leading us to do the good works God has already planned for us with a sincere and impartial heart. How do we get this wisdom? God reveals it through the Holy Spirit and through His Word to every believer in Christ who asks in faith.

Let Your Light Shine

Matthew 5 16

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Let your light shine by doing good deeds so that others will be led to glorify God. There are so many people in need of help right in your very own community. Safely volunteering your time at homeless shelters, food banks or at some other nonprofit organization that has a place in your heart will help people experience the love and goodness of God. When you love God with all your heart you can’t help but feel compassion for the poor and needy just like Jesus did. Let God’s love shine through you because faith without works is dead.

Give Yourselves Fully

1 corinthians 15 58

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Stand firm, let nothing move you and don’t give up. Keep doing the work (your ministry) and all the good works the Lord has called you to do and do them with all of your heart for the honor and glory of the Lord. God will equip you and strengthen you to accomplish His purpose and to be fruitful. Every good work is useful for God’s kingdom, edification and the saving of lives. The Lord sees everything you do and He will never forget the love you demonstrate to His people. Nothing you do for Him is ever in vain or a waste of your time and effort. By His grace you will be rewarded in heaven so give yourself fully to the work of the Lord.

In the Potter’s Hands

Jeremiah 18 4

Verse of the Day:  Jeremiah 18:4

But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

We are the clay pot, marred by sin, often feeling unusable. But in the Potter’s hands He is able to transform us into a new creation. We don’t have to be perfect to be used by God, just willing. If we give ourselves to God, He will mold us into a new vessel fit for His purpose and every good work He has planned for us. We may be broken when we come to God, but He can make us whole.

Instruments for Special Purposes

2 Timothy 2 21 (2)

Verse of the Day:  2 Timothy 2:21

Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

No matter what you’ve done in the past, no matter how broken you were God can still use you for His special purposes. When you come to God and turn away from sin you are forgiven and made clean. Your sins have been expunged by the blood of Jesus Christ. You are a new creation and God loves you and He has a purpose for your life. Get right with God, turn away from sin and prepare yourself to do God’s work for only He can turn your mess into a message. Thank God for forgiving you and let go of your past so you can focus on the present and on the future that God has planned for you.

Your Purpose

Ephesians 2 10.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Jesus Christ to do the good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We were uniquely made by God and for God’s purpose. Nothing about you is an accident. God knew you before you were born and He put a desire in your heart for a purpose that He planned long ago. You are never too young or too old to find your purpose in life. Step out in faith and ask God for guidance and direction to fulfilling your God given dreams. Don’t let doubt or the devil keep you from being all you can be for the Lord.

Special Purposes

2 Timothy 2 21

Verse of the Day:  2 Timothy 2:21

Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

No matter what you’ve done in the past God can still use you for his purpose.  When you come to God and turn away from sin you are forgiven and made clean.  God loves you and has a purpose for your life.  Get right with God and prepare yourself to do his work for only he can turn your mess into a message.
