Grow

Verse of the Day:  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Fruit of the Spirit: Christianity is long-term, it’s for all eternity and like every living thing, it’s a growing process. Keep working at growing your relationship with the Lord and the Fruit of Spirit will continue to grow in you.

Grow

Verse of the Day:  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Faith in Action: God will continue to work on you until the day Jesus comes for His church. You must do your part too, you can’t just stay where you are today, you must continue working at it so that you may grow in your knowledge of God, your relationship with God and your faith in God.

Keep growing and moving forward. Don’t let your faith become stagnant.

Grow

Verse of the Day:  2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Christianity is long-term, it’s for all eternity and like every living thing it’s a growing process. We start off as babes and grow to full maturity, we develop as we grow. Growing doesn’t mean we never fail because we will never be perfect in this world. But, we do start to see our sin and the Holy Spirit’s convictions help us to repent. God will continue to work on you until the day Jesus comes for His church. We must do our part too, we can’t just stay where we are today, we must continue working at it so that we may grow our knowledge of God, our relationship with God and our faith in God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace that saved me and helps me to grow closer to You each day. Lord, I pray that You would help me to grow in knowledge, in spirit, in faith and in obedience so that I may walk more closely with You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Grow in Wisdom

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 1:5

The wise hear them and grow in wisdom; those with understanding gain guidance.

Solomon, the king of Israel, asked God to give him wisdom and understanding and it pleased the Lord, so he gave him wisdom and understanding beyond measure. The Book of Proverbs was written to guide people, not just the young, but all people in what is right, just and fair. Some say the Book of Proverbs doesn’t apply to today’s times, but it is as relevant now as it was then because God’s Word is the same yesterday, today and forever. Learning is a life-long journey, even the wise can still grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Lord, thank you for your holy Word that gives me wisdom, understanding and guidance daily. Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in Your Word. Open my ears so that I may tune in to Your instruction in righteousness. Open my mind to receive wisdom that comes from heaven above and helps me to grow closer to You. Open my heart so that Your Word may dwell in me all the days of my life. Amen.

Helping God’s People

Verse of the Day:  Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

The Lord blesses those who are a blessing to others. The love you show to God’s people as He puts it in your heart to help and encourage them is evidence of your faith and your love for Him. God is not unjust that He would ever forget the work you do or the love you show by helping and ministering to His people. Let God work through you to show love to His people as you grow spiritually and walk in His wisdom and truth. Any good deed you do with a right heart for His glory will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

The Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5 22-23

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The fruit of the Spirit starts to develop in you as you leave sin behind and begin to seek the Lord with all your heart. As your maturity and knowledge in Christ grows, so too will love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Although will power helps, it has its limits and you must truly come to depend on God’s power to change you. It doesn’t just happen overnight. God is constantly working on you to become more Christlike. It takes a lifetime of dedication and obedience to God and His Word as you are led by the Holy Spirit. Fruit grows where roots are deep. Be rooted in Christ and let Him be the foundation of your life and you will see more abundantly good fruit to the praise and glory of God.

Strengthened in the Faith

Colossians 2 6-7

Verse of the Day:  Colossians 2:6-7

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

As believers in Christ we must strive for spiritual maturity. We cannot grow without first being tested. If we are rooted in Christ, when trials come our faith will be made stronger when we trust in the Lord and continue to be thankful for His goodness and mercy in all situations.
