Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:11
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
I am thankful for all of God’s blessings. This year was a tough year for our family. My husband was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer. By the grace of God, he is now cancer free, but there were times we didn’t know how we were going to pay the bills or put food on the table. When we couldn’t see a way, God made a way. He touched the hearts of many to help us along the way and for that we are forever grateful. Our faith was made stronger with each and every act of generosity. If we trust in God, He will always provide for us and He even makes a way for us to be a blessing to others. God blesses us so we can generously pour out our blessings to others, which results in thanksgiving to God.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 1:17
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
We each have been given gifts to serve others. Let’s be faithful stewards of God’s grace by using our gifts to do the right thing for others. Let’s give our time and volunteer our gifts and abilities to help those in need. Much mercy was shown to you when Jesus gave His life for you, therefore, show mercy to those in need. Right their wrongs, plead their case, defend the oppressed and seek justice for all. Do what you can, when you can, for as many as you can.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:8
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.
Speak up for the people who have no voice. Stand up for the oppressed. It’s our duty to help those who cannot help themselves. We ought to go into the world and donate our time, money and resources for the poor, the destitute and the suffering. We must be protectors of those who are unable to plead their own cause. It’s up to us to share the Gospel and demonstrate the teachings of Jesus to the people so they too may know the mercy, forgiveness and love of God.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:20
She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.
As godly women who love the Lord we should aspire to help the poor and needy. That doesn’t mean we all have to do extraordinary things. Sometimes, it’s simply a kind word or a sincere gesture. Each of you should do what God puts in your heart to do and do it with love.
Verse of the Day: Proverbs 3:27
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
If you are in a position to be of assistance to someone don’t walk away or turn your back on them when they need your help. You are called to show God’s love, kindness and mercy to those in need. Be generous not only with your money but also with your time and talents by letting God work through you to help the destitute. He will not forget the effort and love you show them.
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Spread the love of Christ with your fellow man this Christmas. There are a couple of weeks left until Christmas so you still have time to make a donation to a worthy cause that helps the needy. Follow your heart and remember that the Lord has blessed you so you can bless others. Whether it’s big or small make a donation to your favorite charity, every bit helps and makes a difference in the lives of others.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 41:10
Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
God is telling you not to be afraid because He is with you. What better reassurance can you get? God Himself is saying that you shouldn’t be frightened because He is your God and He’s going to be with you to strengthen you, help you, and defend you not because you are righteous but because He is. Knowing that God is on your side should make you fearless.
