Is It Worth Your Soul?

Verse of the Day: Mark 8:36

What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?

There is nothing in this world worth losing your soul for. A big house, an expensive car, your career, fame, fortune, none of it is worth losing your soul. You can’t take any of those things with you into eternity. It may feel or seem good in the moment but your time on earth is just a speck compared to all eternity. Whatever pulls you away from God needs to go, let nothing come between you and God. Instead, put Jesus first and live a life of faith and holiness. Don’t lose your soul over something temporary and just to be clear, everything on earth is temporary.

Godly Wisdom

Verse of the Day: James 3:17

Wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

There is a difference between people who have Godly wisdom and people who are wise in their own eyes. Godly wisdom comes from the Lord and it gives us the desire to live a life that is obedient and respectful to God and His holiness no matter what trials we face. It helps us to see the best in people, to be patient and to forgive others and it also help us to step back in the interest of peace when appropriate. It allows us to be open to receiving good advice and godly counsel. It compels us to be merciful and compassionate toward all people leading us to do the good works God has already planned for us with a sincere and impartial heart. How do we get this wisdom? God reveals it through the Holy Spirit and through His Word to every believer in Christ who asks in faith.

God is Holy

Isaiah 6 3

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 6:3

And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”

The Bible says that God is Holy. There is no evil or sin in Him. He is perfect in every way for ever and ever. Everything about Him is holy and every part of His nature is holy. There is no one and nothing like Him and because of His supreme holiness He is worthy of all praise and worship. God is holy and He is calling you do be holy in all you do. He wants you to be obedient to His Word and live according to His will in every aspect of your life. You may think “God is perfect and it is impossible for me to be as holy as God”, that’s true but try anyway because He deserves the best from us. It’s better to set your standards high and come short than to aim low and hit your mark.

Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future.

A virtuous woman of God carries herself with strength and honor in her attitude and her behavior. She is in control of her actions and does everything with purpose and uprightness. She is respected for more than her outward appearance, she is respected for her godliness and holiness. She is confident because she knows God is in control of her life and the future.
