Verse of the Day: Ephesians 3:16-18
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.
Just like the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, we need to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they may be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit. We also need to pray for our family, friends, even our enemies and the world in general so that they would come to know Jesus Christ our Savior and invite Him into their heart and experience His infinite love first hand. Pray that they would come to truly know the Lord, His grace, glory and how much He really does love them.
Verse of the Day: Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
At times you may come before God feeling defeated and overwhelmed to the point where words cannot convey what you want to say. Tears may stream down your face as you humbly come before the almighty God. Don’t worry if your faith is weak, it’s okay if you don’t have the right words or any words at all. The Holy Spirit that lives in you will intercede for you and help you by interpreting what is in your heart. The Holy Spirit will help you to remember God’s promises, remind you of God’s love, act as a comforter in your distress, give you strength and help you pray to God.
Verse of the Day: James 3:17
Wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Spiritual wisdom comes from God and it gives you the desire to live a life that is obedient and respectful to God and His holiness no matter what trials you face. It helps us to see the best in people, to be patient and to forgive others and it also help us to step back in the interest of peace when appropriate. It allows us to be open to receiving good advice and godly counsel. It compels us to be merciful and compassionate toward all people leading us to do the good works God has already planned for us with a sincere and impartial heart. How do we get this spiritual wisdom? God reveals it through the Holy Spirit and through His Word to every believer in Christ who asks in faith.
Verse of the Day: 1 Samuel 3:10
The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
Prayer is not only about us talking to God, it’s also about actively listening to hear the voice of God. We may not hear an audible voice like Samuel did but if we listen with our heart we will become sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Spend time with God by simply being still. Listen with your heart and learn to recognize God’s voice.
Verse of the Day: Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Without hope we feel helpless, alone and powerless. But our God is the source of all hope. Hope for healing, hope for peace, hope for joy and hope for the future. All hope comes from knowing, believing and trusting God. By His grace and by the power of the Holy Spirit, God has given us the precious gift of hope. If you feel hopeless, seek a relationship with the author of all hope, God Almighty.
Verse of the Day: Isaiah 30:21
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”
If you are at a crossroad in your life or have an important decision to make and you’re not sure which path to take listen closely to the Holy Spirit, who will guide you onto the right path. Humbly and earnestly seek guidance through prayer, fasting and studying the Word of God. The Holy Spirit also helps you in your day to day life when you are in tune with His prompting, which are always aligned with scripture.
