Wise Decisions

Verse of the Day:  James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

God is the giver all good things including wisdom. We need God’s spiritual wisdom in our everyday lives to navigate this world. When you have a decision to make take it to the Lord in prayer. God is all-knowing, He knows your past, your present and your future. Bring your concerns to Him with sincerity and humility. Ask the Lord for guidance and wisdom to make good and right decisions. He promises that if you come to Him by faith asking for wisdom it will be given to you.

Lord, grant me wisdom to make good and godly decisions. Guide me in the way I should go. Amen

Keep Serving the Lord

Verse of the Day: Romans 12:11

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

These last couple of year have been difficult to say the least. We’ve had a lot to deal with but we are finally seeing the light at the end of this dark tunnel. Through it all, God has been with us. Don’t give up now, don’t let your spiritual relationship become lukewarm. Don’t let the troubles of this world come between you and God. All these things are temporary and this is not our eternal home. Keep serving the Lord, keep reading the Word of God, keep praying, keep singing, keep praising and worshiping, keep your soul on fire for God!

Heavenly Father, No matter what troubles may come, I will keep putting You first. I will keep serving You with all my heart and soul. Lord, help me to serve You faithfully, obediently and with passion. Amen

Strong and Courageous

Verse of the Day:  Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

When God calls you to do something, He gives you the strength and courage to do it. You don’t have to worry if you’re smart enough, gifted enough or skilled enough. All that matters is that God is with you. The Lord has commanded you to be strong and courageous. When you are afraid or discouraged, turn to God. It doesn’t matter what it is, you don’t have to do it alone, He will be with you every step of the way. Trust in God and in His power. He will give you the strength and courage to get through anything He calls you to do.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your promise to be with me wherever I go. I trust in You to give me the strength and courage to do what You have called me to do. Amen

Take Refuge in the Lord

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 57:1

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

It’s easy to profess your faith when everything is going well. The greatest acts of faith are proven when you trust in God when things go wrong, when things are out of your own control. By faith and prayer, you can take your troubles to the throne for God’s mercy and protection. There will be times when God delivers you from the storm and there will be times when He allows you to go through the storm so that when it’s over you come out stronger than before. If you find yourself going through a storm, take refuge in the shadow of His wings and remember that He will always be with you and He will see you through it.

Heavenly Father, Have mercy on me and deliver me from my troubles. But if I must go through this, then help me to come out stronger than before. Amen

Getting Through Dark Days

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 43:5

Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Life is not always sunshine and flowers. There are days when bad things happen, days when sadness creeps in and there are days when we just feel lonely. In these times, you need to lift your head toward God and give praise to your Savior. The way to forget your troubles is to remember God’s goodness. God loves you more than you will ever know. Turn to Him in your times of trouble. Thank Him for all the good in your life. He hasn’t forgotten you, He is close to the brokenhearted. Put your hope in God and rely on Him to get you through even the darkest of days. Let your faith and hope in God be the path to victory.

Lord, Even on my darkest days I know that You are with me. I will count my blessing not my problems and by faith, I will continue to praise Your holy name. My hope is in You, my God, my Savior. Amen

The Work of Our Hands

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 90:17

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us — yes, establish the work of our hands.

Whatever you do, you should do it for the Lord and do it for His honor and glory. Let God’s love shine in you so that others may see His goodness. Conduct yourself in a positive light so that the beauty of God can be seen in everything you do. No matter what your job is, pray that the Lord would help you to accomplish your goals. Ask Him to bless the work of your hands so that you may be fruitful and productive. Ask Him to help you enjoy your work so you can see Him glorified in all aspects of your job and when your work is demanding, pray for strength and a good attitude.

Heavenly Father, bless the work of my hands, let me be fruitful and productive so that You may be glorified. Give me strength to carry out the work You have given me to do and help me to have a good attitude even when it is difficult. Amen

Be Generous

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 11:25

A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

Be kind and generous to others because God has been kind and generous to you. Don’t just pray for others to be blessed, let God use you to bless others as well. When you’re generous to the poor or to someone in need God will always make sure your needs are taken care of and will also bless you spiritually. Trust in God’s promises and help those in need.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being so kind and generous to me. I pray for those in need because I know You are able to bless them exceedingly and abundantly. Lord, I also pray that You would use me to be a blessing to others. Amen

Lend a Helping Hand

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 31:20

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

As godly women who love the Lord we should aspire to help the poor and needy. Do what you can for as many as you can when you can. That doesn’t mean we all have to do extraordinary things. Sometimes, it’s simply a kind word, a sincere gesture or lending a helping hand to someone in need. Each of you should do what God puts in your heart to do and do it with love, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminding me that just as I open my hand to receive blessings from You, I should also reach out my hand to bless others. May I be a kind and cheerful giver with my words and deeds. Amen

Overcome Your Unbelief

Verse of the Day: Mark 9:24

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Every believer at one time or another has doubts, fear or times when their faith is weak. The enemy will try to destroy your faith by planting seeds of doubt in your mind. But, as long as you still have some faith, even as small as a mustard seed, God will work with what you have. If you still believe, God can change your heart, heal your body or move mountains for you. It’s not about your power or your strength, it’s about having faith in the power of Jesus Christ and believing that His grace is sufficient. When you feel doubt and fear creeping in ask God to strengthen your faith so that you can overcome your unbelief.

Lord, I admit that there are times when I feel doubt and fear but God, I know deep in my heart that with You all things are possible. Strengthen my faith so that I can overcome any unbelief. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Use Your Gifts

Verse of the Day:  Romans 12:6-8

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

By the grace of God, He has given you gifts specific to the purpose He has planned for you and the church. Not everyone has the same gift, each one of us is unique but together we make the body of Christ complete. There are different types of gifts but it is the same God that works in all of you. As part of the body of Christ, it’s your responsibility to discover how to use those gifts for the good of the church and humanity. Whatever your gift is, your goal should be to use it to the best of your ability for God’s purpose so that He may be glorified.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the spiritual gifts You have given me. Help me to discover and use them to the best of my ability for Your purpose so that You may be glorified. Amen
